Just checked the SWA site. If you're flying to Orlando by 3/6/04, Southwest has some great promo fares. $79 each way from Chicago, Phoenix, Indy, BWI, Hartford, Manchester and Providence RI. (Sorry if I missed anything.)

We aren't going until 3/27, but maybe someone else can use this! I hope we can even come close.

im waiting for april, i hope they are still running the $79 each way, i even called and was told maybe by the end of the month they will release the next dates. i even have the jewel vouchers and for $79 each way, if i was flying tuesday to tuesday, 2 weeks, dd & dh couldnt take off that long dd & i could, hmmm, nope that wouldnt be fair, i just wait or will just drive:sunny:

wdwstar - I'm waiting, too! And not very patiently, I'm afraid. Right now, I'd settle for any R/T out of KC that's under $200.

I'm afraid that when the SW dates are extended they'll be sky high.
Everything else (that isn't in the middle of the night) is in the $300 range. Ouch.

i know its very hard to wait, i am like this crazy:crazy: women checking all the airline sites everyday, im sure these website has my email address and saying not her again, (i hoping they just say give her airfare to get rid of her) . dh said lets just drive, i just drove in aug while he flew. then dh said lets just wait, we got great airfare last minute this past spring, i said we flew the beginning of feb. not easter/spring break time. im afraid if i dont get something we will end up driving. about a month ago i could have gotten tickets for 4 for 620.00 from spirit, but no, i had to wait until i book through our dvc, then the price doubled and is going up little by little. :(

We drove the last time we went, but we just don't have four days to waste that way for our next trip. I'd rather spend the time at Disney!

DisFlan,
Even if SW fares are high when they are first released,
the airline is very good about adjusting the fare if it is
lowered at some point. You just need to keep the remainder
of the funds as a credit, which are good for a year from the
date the reservations were originally made. Not sure if
you knew that or not.

I just did what Ilovedisney suggests yesterday. I booked our flights from Detroit to Orlando on SW about two weeks ago for $226 each. Yesterday, they went down to $198. I was able to change the itinerary very easily on their website and we have an $84 credit to use the next time we fly SW (within a year).

Southwest is very good about this.

When will Southwest Move there schedule past March 6th??.. We our looking for a Flight out of KCI - Orlando end of March. Don"t have the four days to drive from Missouri.. Flights out of Spfd are to costly.. WAKE UP SOUTHWEST..... 156 days left for us....

DisFLan, I believe that SW is offering there $99 round trip rate to Orlando from Omaha. I know that Omaha is a 3 hour drive from KC, but it might save you some money.

Thanks for all the suggestions, but the main problem is that I can't make ANY reservations yet on SW until they extend their dates. That's the tough part. GRRR. I had leftover funds for SW that had to be used by Feb. I just used them for a quick Christmas trip for my DH and myself to Houston out of Tulsa. Good rate, too!

feralpeg - I'm about 3+ hours south of KC. Omaha would be a little too far to go for a flight, but thanks. One of the main reasons we're looking at going out of KC to Disney is that it's usually cheaper than Tulsa or Springfield, and it's got NONSTOP flights to Orlando. A big, big plus. That makes the trip a lot less of a hassle.

Disfan3 & wdwstar - looks like we're all in the same boat.

I would not expect them much before the next couple of weeks.

They take bookings roughly 4-6 months out, they have been doing this for years, it works for them. I can understand the impatience factor, however. But, have patience.

Now that the dates are extended, I went ahead and booked. I got nonstop coming back to KC, but had to take 1 stop in Charlotte on the way to Orlando. But I got the $72 promo to Orlando! Can't gripe about that. It's $148 coming back, but I can watch for a fare change between now and March.

The tab came out to $245 each R/T with all the taxes and fees. But compared to the "big guys", it's a LOT cheaper.

Whew! At least now I can stop fretting about getting there. A rental car is next.
