SW Visa question?

I've applied for the SW VISA with the 50K miles. We're planning a trip in November and we're hoping to use the points for the airfare.

Does anyone know how long it took from application to receiving the VISA?

Also how long after the purchase until the pts are added to RR account.

I filled out the application online and received the visa signature card within seven days. What I'm unsure of still is after the first purchase. How long before the bonus miles will show up in my rapid rewards account.

I just got it and it came in about a week or so. Not sure of the exact date because it came while I was away on vacation but it was under 2 weeks.

I made my first purchase last Tuesday and the points have not hit my RR yet. My billing date is the 11th so we'll see if they hit then.

I applied for, received the card and made my first purchase rather quickly (within 7-10 days), but after another couple weeks I still didn't see the points.

I read in a similar thread here where another poster did the same plus made the first card payment quickly, and had received the points quicker than I. After reading that I made a payment on my account (which wound up being made prior to receiving my first statement) and the points showed up within a few days. Therefore I believe but am not certain that making the first card payment helps speed up getting the points...

I got my card about a week after I applied. I have been using the card steadily for about 3 weeks now and I have made two payments on it already. I have not hit my statement date yet. So far, my points have not hit my account

I am not horribly worried yet, as we are not currently planning a trip. But I will feel much better once they are in there.

Got the cards in the mail yesterday. Whipped out to the Mall and bought my daughter some school clothes. Now I just have to wait to get the points

We are in the same situation as all the PPs. I called and asked about when the points will show up. First, they will not be given to you until you use the card once. Then, they will show up in your SW rewards account after your first billing statement which is about two months after you sign up/receive the card. This might not work for you to travel in November. You might want to give them a call. We are not concerned because we won't be traveling with SW soon.

Honestly, I'm still wondering if I made the right decision to apply for this card. We also have the Disney rewards card and I'm not sure if it's smarter to use the Disney or the SW card.
