I have my airfare home booked at a much higher rate than I'd like. I've been watching it daily. As of today, it's showing all fare categories as unavailable. In SW's world, does that mean it's a truly sold-out flight? Even if it does, I'll keep watching it in case of cancellations I guess.

I've seen the same thing at times.

I think they're preventing any further booking at that time, until they can get a handle on how much space there really is left on the flight.

Check back later, or even tomorrow. I bet some slots will have opened back up again. But you probably won't be able to get the kind of deals SWA was offering as little as a year ago. They're just not offering them like in the past.

It's my experience that once it's showing unavailable across all price categories, it's actually oversold.

I check my flights daily (currently have 3 upcoming trips I am checking for on Southwest and Airtran). Several times on a particular leg I have had everything show unavailable, then a day or two later everythign is back open and there are $49 fares. I have NO idea why, and have given up trying to predict with them ;) I just book my flights at the time/price I like, rebook if it goes lower and hope there is a seat for us on the plane :rotfl:

In agree with Anne here. On Sunday, I flew from San Jose to ONT on a flight that said UNAVAILABLE for a few days and it was oversold.

Thanks for the responses! It would have been so nice for it to go down just a wee bit - certainly not expecting great fares like in the past!

I think it may fall into the oversold category though - I went ahead & checked out a few other airlines & theirs are pretty well booked up for that day. Guess I need to stop traveling on a Sat - I know - terrible day to travel! Oh well - it'll be money well spent to have fun!

Actually I have found Saturdays to be a lot easier to travel on than Sunday's and Friday's.....but nowadays every day seems to be a bad day:confused3
