SW trip report with early entry & breakfast

We stayed at the Fairfield and took the shuttle one day. It is a contractor bus, not owned by the hotels. It was very prompt in the morning, but in the evening, when we wanted the 5pm shuttle, it didn't come until 5:45pm. No explaination or nothing. Last time we used the shuttle during our stay.

Did you take the shuttle to Universal? We would only need it one way, leaving the Fairfield the next morning and going to Universal. Thanks.

No, didn't take the shuttle to Universal. I know they had one. The shuttle to SW was a big bus. So, I would think you could get luggage on the Unversal Shuttle. I had a rental car and drove from Universal to the Fairfield. It was about a 25 minute or longer (because of the traffic) ride up the I Drive or up 4. I think the shuttle for Universal drops you off at a place near the parking garages at Universal. I would check the Fairfield to confirm.

Hope you enjoy your trip.

Thanks. You know, I wasn't even thinking about the luggage! When I told my husband of my plan last night he said,"but what about the luggage?" Whoops...

Anyway, I will call the Fairfield and find out. If we can take our luggage on the bus for Universal, and it's free, we will probably do that and just drag our luggage to the HRH. If not we'll just book a town car service or something.

Great thread...thanks for all the info! We are staying at a partner hotel in a few weeks, so I'm glad to read about all the perks.

A quick question about the all-day dining plan...obviously sharing isn't generally allowed, but is it OK if my DD (2) shares some of my meal? I know they allow you do do this at Disney, but I don't want to break the SW rules. :) So I have a wristband and I can make unlimited trips to get whatever food I want? :confused3 Sounds like a really good deal!

Thanks!

1) Regarding the shuttle, they have a shuttle schedule at the front desk, we actually used the shuttle to SeaWorld! Why walk an extra 100 yards? LOL But we did not take it anywhere else. We did need a ride back to the airport though and the conceirge called a driver named "Bish" who has his own company, chauffering people in his grand Expedition. We really liked Bish and told him we'd use him again when we are in town. I think he charged like $40 for transport for 4 to the airport. So there are options, but a free option would be best! If I saved my old shuttle schedule I'll let you know.

2) Regarding the sharing food question, they ask that children 3-9 have their own wristband, for a somewhat lower price. So for a 2 yr old you should be able to share, I would think. Yes, you can go through multiple times but we never seemed to go on not-busy days so waiting in line over and over sometimes wasn't worth it. But I still recommend it!!!

LynneG,

So did you walk the rest of the time to Seaworld? The website says it is across the street, is that accurate? Was it an easy walk? Thanks.

No, I had a rental car and drove the rest of the time. I like coming and going at my convenience when on vacation. I only took the shuttle to SW the one day because I wanted to see how easy and I was too lazy to get my Busch parking pass from the Discovery Cove before having to go to SW our first day at the Fairfield.
And, the Fairfield is on I Drive, and while yes the Fairfield is across the street from the one side of SW that is on the other side of I-Drive it is not and entrance way into SW. Also, wouldn't walk on I Drive near the Fairfield nor would I walk on the Central Parkway. Huge amount of fast traffic near the Fairfield. I did see people walking across the Parkway at the side of the Fairfield that faces the Parkway. All is can say is :eek:ole I would have been really scared to do that, especially with my kids. There is a Walgreens and food places in the parking lot of the Fairfield. Do not need a car to go to them.

The Entrance to SW is on the Central Parkway. Make a left out of Fairfield lot on the I drive side, turn right at first light onto Central Parkway. SW is on right, Discovery Cove on left. Discover Cove turnoff is before SW. It was about a 5 or 6 minute drive and I think the shuttle was about the same time amount.
Note: If you are going to Discovery Cove, and dont have a car, take the shuttle to SW and Discovery Cove has a bus that takes you from the SW parking lot (where buses let off/on) to Discovery Cove. Also, if you do get a car, with my Discovery Cove package, I ordered the unlimited parking pass. For $40 plus tax, I got a pass for unlimited parking in all Busch parks for 14 days. It was great, as I went to SW twice, BG twice, and Aquatica twice. Otherwise, parking would have been $12 plus tax and cash at the toll booth.
