Are SW Travel Funds transferrable.

The cost of my flights has gone down but I may not be able to use the credit in the next 12 months. My sister is going to Disney and can use them for her flights. I just want to make sure SW will let her use the funds for her purchase.

TIA!!!

Last I knew, travel credits can only be used by the traveller they were issued to. Each person on your reservation would have their own credit which is no longer transferrable to another person. Check me on this but I am pretty sure that is how it is. I was disappointed when this change took place because I often get a better rate and I modify my flights but I rarely fly within 12 months so I can't really use it.

I just asked a similar question and found that technically the funds are not supposed to be transferable, but apparently it has not taken effect yet in Southwest's computer system. If your sister has her dates, go ahead and try to transfer your funds to her and see what happens. Can't hurt to try.

They haven't changed it yet. DS and I just traveled on funds in our names and hubby's name (they actually put all the funds on ONE ticket) a week ago.

Good luck!! We did it two weeks ago and it worked...nice surprise! Thank goodness for "due to reprioritizing our Technology needs. No date has been set for implementation.":)
