I am sure I already know the answer. I can't seem to find the answer on SW website. I am planning a trip for end of March flying with SW again. We are letting DD take 2 of her friends to Disney this time. I have found some really good rates that I don't want to pass up. However I am still not positive that one of the friends is going to be able to go. Still waiting on a confirmation from parents. If I go ahead and book that ticket and they don't end up going can I get a travel funds if that ticket is not used?

i think that the travel funds go to the names traveler, not the person who paid for the tickets.

I would buy the tickets you are sure of at the good price and add the girl later when you are sure she is going.

If you have rr points, you can get the ticket on points. If you cancel the points go back into your account regardless of the name on the ticket.

If you do not have a rapid rewards account you can set one up and then buy points when they are having a 40 or 50% off points deal. It ends up costing a little more, but still a lot less than a cancelable ticket.

Point tickets can be cancelled up to very short notice and the points just come back to your account.
