Sw really is up now>> rates around 114

Cleveland to Orlando is running $142. I guess the plan to drive this year is a good one. I think my cost for driving (no I am not counting wear and tear but I only drive 5 miles a day to work) is under 500.00. As long as I have two drives we are good to go. Now to reconcile my almost teenager to being two weeks away from her best friend.:cool1:

I'm another one who is not happy :(. From Houston to Orlando the base was $145, RT for one person was $310. Unfortunately these have been their prices for the last couple of months out of Houston - I wonder what I should do I'm really afraid that the price isn't going to go down only up. I do have ding but haven't seen any houston to orlando fairs come out. Oh well I guess I will do my best to play the waiting game - which is sooooo hard for me to do!!!! Congrats to everyone who was able to score a great rate :cool1:!!!

...not exactly what I was hoping for. The flights were not great either. Going down we nailed 89.00 non stop but coming home it was 134.00 :sad2: non stop. I booked because last year I waited and the price kept going up, up up! I could have had a cheaper rate coming home but we wanted a late flight so we could take advantage of one more day of park time.

Flights from Nashville to MCO stink!! I wasn't expecting them to be this high...$138 and $125!!!!!! I was hoping to book today so I wouldn't have to constantly be checking the website, DING, emails, etc., but no such luck! I guess we'll see what the rates do in the next few weeks, but I SO wanted to have this done today!:headache:

Fellow Nashville traveler......I agreed.....its a "I waited all day on this!"

I just booked my return flight from MCO to Buffalo. I got $69 for 4 people, but the times of the flights were not good. One early morning nonstop & then only one other leaving at 6:55 pm and it was $124. I took the one stop with no plane change for $69 - really wanted a non stop during the day - none offered!!! :confused3 :confused3

$84 with no bag fees is great for us. Booked for our trip to the world in late August. Now if only Free Dining would come out - i would be all set.

Pixie Dust to eveyone booking airfare today!

:banana:pixiedust:

after waiting for a month for them to open up their fall dates, I am now booked on Airtran. The Direct flights from Indy to MCO on the dates I needed were @$130 each way, and not until almost noon. I can direct flights at 7am on the way down and 9pm on the way back, essentially give me an extra whole day at the parks.....and it is $120 LESS than SW!!!!! Even with checking two bags each way, and paying to select seats we come out ahead. Now just hoping they don't mess with the schedule between now and then. :rolleyes1

I just purchased RT from Denver to Orlando Sept 25th with
return Oct 3rd for 3 people (me, dh and ds14)
All those stupid taxes and fees.:sad1:

Base Fare $608.37
+ Excise Taxes $45.63
Advertised Fare $654.00
+ Segment Fee $22.20
+ Passenger Facility Fee $27.00
+ Security Fee1 $15.00

Total Payment: $718.20

1Security Fee is the government-
imposed September 11th Security Fee.

Not the cheapest but I can't complain.
All of the other airlines are higher and we then have to pay for
bags. At least I have a flight, I worry because they are cutting back
the amounts of flights. The only non-stop didn't leave until 10:25 am
in 2008 it left at 7:00am.

Come on FREE DINING!!!

Use DING and you may get a reduction, SW is great, no fees! Good Luck!:wizard:

94 per person per way! Non-stop there one stop back!! I am happy with that! That is under 1100 round trip for a family of five! To fly from our home town this trip would cost us over 4000!!!

We still have to drive to minneapolis and hotel it two nights but that costs us an additional 600 including gas! We are still coming out ahead! I love that SWA includes luggage less to worry about now!!

Hi Stnet!! Another Houstonian here. We are also waiting for some good prices to come out for our November trip. Will keep checking Ding and keeping our fingers crossed.:wizard:

i was going to book R/T stl- mco (for 79. ow) IWhen I returned from getting by credit card my 79 fight went to 139. NOT HAPPY!!!!

I waited all morning here at work, checking and checking and when they finally came up they were really high and the times were all off. Went back after lunch and they changed again, came down a little bit but $178 pp to fly home??!!?? I was okay with the $109pp down, hoped for some of the great rates you all were getting. Guess I will just wait for these rates to come down. I hope, I hope........:scared1:

$240 rt from Denver is a GREAT rate! I think you should be pleased.

I was only able to get one leg at that rate, so I only booked the one leg and will watch and worry that the flight I want will go up rather than down.

:cool1: I just booked $79 each way from Chicago MDW. Great fares - all flights for each date were $79 and there were 6-10 flights each day. So glad I don't have top search for a better fare for 6 months (even though I will still check at times :) ).

Good luck to everyone else!

Same here. We were able to book Sept 4-11 for 3 of us from Chicago to Orlando at $79 each way. We were able to book the 9:30 am flight out and the 11:50 am flight home, which is exactly what we were looking for. After using our $86 credit, the total came out to $452.20 or 150.73 pp r/t. This is why I love SW.

keep going up for me
kicking myself, should have booked last week :sad2:

edited to add that I'm looking for flights in may
last minute planner right here

the times are awful!!!! No early morning non-stop?? last non-stop home leaves at 2pm????? The fares are bad but the schedule is much worse. This cuts like a full day off of our trip. Original plan was Sun 9/5 thru Sat 9/11 but with these times (the first non-stop doesn't arrive until 2:20) we'll have to arrive on Sat 9/4 to make up the time. Hate to say it but I'm going to check Delta.

I just posted about this on another thread. I am totally bummed too! i am thinking maybe of going a day early but I don't know where I would stay.
