We haven't flown in along time. My husband & I are flying SW for a get-away with no kids. To get good rates we have 2 stops and very little time when changing planes, is it okay to pack food/sandwiches to eat on the plane? Do they still serve drinks during the flight? I don't know when we will have time to eat otherwise and I am terrified of flying, I want a task to do to keep from full panic! Total travel time is 6hrs.:scared1:

Depending on the food items (meaning you won't be able to get certain items through security) it is fine to bring your own food on the planes (don't get people started about peanut butter though :lmao: ) I have seen people bring subs, etc. on the flights and eat them. They will serve you drinks, but if you get the chance to grab one during your layover that would be better as you would have it available vs. waiting until you are airborn and they are able to serve you.

We always pack sandwiches etc. for SWA along with some other snacks.

Plus along with drinks SWA does serve little snacks such as peanuts, chips, etc. Not enough snacks for a meal but they help supplement what you may bring with you.

You can take foods (no liquids) on board with you to eat. Sandwiches should be fine, but you might want to check before bringing "wet" sandwiches (like tuna salad or a meatball sub).

One other (non-cheap) option is to purchase your sandwiches/food at your departure airport. At least then you've already gone through security.
