SW now departing from Dulles

For those of you in the DC/VA/MD area, take note that Southwest is now offers flights from Dulles to Orlando. When I checked for a Fri. in early Nov., there were only two flights, 6 a.m. and 12 p.m. It's possible there are more on other days, but if not, here's hoping they expand that service over time.

SW also seems to have bought gates at Nat'l (DCA), but isn't offering flights to MCO from there. It'd be nice if they did, though, and SO much more convenient!

Gggaaahhhhh! I just bought our tix on United on Monday. I checked Southwest to see if they had started the Dulles service yet. They hadn't posted anything yet and nothing was in the news section. What a bummer. I could have saved $50 per ticket.

There is a news article on another thread that says the IAD-MCO service on SWA starts October 5.

They're only running two flights a day.

Oh, ah-kay, thanks for setting me straight on that. I was kinda surprised when I saw that as I hadn't heard about SW going in to DCA. Makes more sense now.

I have my October tickets for United too, but remember, at least using United you can use the resort luggage check-in service for your return flight. SW is not a participating airline for that perk (yet). I'm glad to see Dulles get some competition, so maybe we will see a few better fares now.
