SW November is $159 each way SW! Ugh! Should I book?

We are traveling Nov 11-19th from Tucson. Wierd thing is I got a message there are no flights for Sat. 11th from Tucson to Orlando. So I check Phoenix which is 2 hours away and it's $159 each way! How disappointing! I've got 4 people to book for in our family so that's way expensive. We were hoping for around $200 roundtrip,which we consider a great deal.

Will all the talk about fares dropping and getting credits. I wonder if I should book these and wait for it to drop and try and get a credit. I've never done this before but I was reading threads about a lot of you that do that.

Do I have a good chance of these dropping or should I just wait for a ding? If I get these now then I'm guaranteed our seats and then don't have to worry about being able to get airfares. I'll just need to look for the credit.

If you have the money now, AND if you intend to fly Soutwest again and complete travel by July 13, 2007, I'd say book now. Book one-way tickets in each direction so that if/when a Ding or other sale comes out, you can rebook at the lower rate without risking your other-way fare.

Thanks, great advice. I've always booked round trip when we fly and had never thought about doing the one ways. But you are completely correct that it is sometimes very difficult to get just the right time and fare for one of the ways. So it would make it alot easier to change if I do one ways.

That's why I love these boards! People here are so knowledgeable on getting the most bang for your buck!

Book now, IMHO. The price has a good chance of decreasing.....we took a quick trip to WDW learly ast November because SWA's fare was so low - about $100 rt from PHL, I believe. But seats go quickly on SWA, so book to get your reservation. Once SWA decreased their price, so did USAirways, but not right away.

I would say book as well. I booked mine today and they were 330.00rt which is about 100 more than I paid last year for November. I did get a ding fare last year and have my fingers crossed for thi year as well. Good Luck!
