Just a heads up, SW opened a short 3 day Fall sale this morning. Copied from their site: " Book by May 29 for travel, every day except Fridays and Sundays, August 25 through December 17, 2014"

This leaves me out as I'm going down on a Friday and back in 10 days on a Sunday! Argh!! But, sales weren't that's great anyway. For example, from Chicago to Orlando, starting at $129. The lowest available when they opened the fares last Monday, for my days, was $142. But, hopefully some will find some good sales! :thumbsup2

Prices look the same to me :confused3

Hoping for good anniversary sale deals or we will be driving.

thanks OP! I just got 1238 points back pp on our return trip!:cool1:

No cheaper flights here either. Some went up to $246 from $111 one way. That is crazy!

No deal for me either. We are leaving on a Friday but might have adjusted if I had found a deal for the day before or after but the prices are the same as they were before. Our return flight is on a Tues. and they are now 100 more than when we booked. I'm thinking I better just bite the bullet and book before they get higher. Since Friday is not included in the anniversary sale anyway I don't think they will get better.

I just posted about this in one of the other SW threads. :) Honestly, with the fares I was seeing out of Chicago when we booked last week, I thought $129 sounded fantastic! We took a $195 down and a $195 back, and those are now both up to $251 down and $311 back (but outside of the eligible travel dates).

Unfortunately, I'm not sure we'll qualify for the anniversary sale, either, if holiday travel isn't included or if the distance is capped at 600 miles.

I don't think the distance for the sale will be capped. I think they will have pricing tiers based on distances. The least expensive tier was the one they mentioned in the commercial.

I actually found a link to an article about a previous year's anniversary sale. In that sale, the first tier of pricing was 450 miles or less. The second tier was 451-1000 miles. The third tier was 1001+ miles.

Just cheked my flights for end of August and my sons flights for end of Sept out of PHL and they are more!

No price change for me out of LAX or for my mom out of MSP....but it never hurts to look. Can't complain much, the fare were rebooked credits that will expire in Jan anyway so Southwest will get the $$ either way. :rotfl2:

Yw! :) And, that's awesome, at least someone got a deal out of it, so glad I posted it! :thumbsup2

Oops, sorry! I was making a quick post as it just opened, and took a glance at what new threads were there, and then posted. Didn't have time to check in the other SW threads.

Ouch! We took 3 of 4 tickets(2 of us), of our trip at $142(in form of points), and still waiting for my SW cc pts after my closing date on 26th to show up to book that last leg home! Luckily, that price has been holding but who knows how long that will last. And, no, the sale prices really aren't too great at all for most, even non existent! Maybe they're just waiting for the anniversary sale and those prices will seem lots better? If prices are too low now, the anniversary prices won't look too great.

I am jealous of all these good fares! Orlando wasn't included for our trip leaving from denver. Right now we are looking at just over $400 per ticket :(

Oh, you're totally fine! In fact, I'm pretty sure you posted before I did. ;-) And yep, I'm not banking on finding a cheaper fare. We've never flown to MCO for less than about $315 RT, so $390 at Christmas time, I'm ok. Of course, I'll still be stalking the SW site early morning on 6/10.... :)

After watching yet another flight for our date go up in price I went ahead and booked. We are paying $152 to Orlando from BWI and $126 home. I don't expect it to get any cheaper for the anniversary sale. Even if the flight home goes down I don't think it will go cheaper since right now that flight is $226. I will continue to look to get better times but I can live with the price. We are leaving at 8am and I would rather leave at about 4 or 5 pm, and we are leaving to come home at 11:30 and would rather leave 4 or 5pm.

Is 6/10 the upcoming fare sale? I guess I'll keep an eye on that.... I saved on my return trip, going out, the cost is doubled from last week!

Just saved over $250 on our flight from Indy to MCO. :thumbsup2

When I originally booked the flights for our October trip back in March the lowest "wanna get away" fare for Indy>MCO was sold out so I purchased the next lowest "anytime" fare which is refundable. When I checked the fares today the "wanna get away" fare was available for Indy>MCO and it was $264 lower. The SWA rep was able to credit my credit card since the original fare was refundable. Woot!

That said we are paying almost twice what we paid for airfare last year. Yikes!

I got $119 on SW from PHL to MCO on the 28th and today $119 is still there for OCT at diff times. Down from $144

some prices dropped in Oct to $119 each. Just changed mine and got a $50 credit.

it is on SW

Our tickets from Louisville to CA to visit Disneyland dropped to $398 RT in Oct. That is cheaper than the Florida prices, even though Florida is 2,000 miles closer. The prices over the weekend were $592 RT. I'll be stalking the Anniversary sale.

That's an awesome price to CA! Are you flying into SNA? The tickets to MCO for October are INSANE for our fall break week. I will drive before I pay $2000 to fly 4 people to Orlando.
