SW has finally joined RAC! (updated NOT ALL RESORTS!!!!!)

I understand that everyone wants to know if their particular resort is 'online' with RAC and SW at this time. But....it really shouldn't be an issue unless you are trying to decide whether or not to book SW for your future trip. And if that's the case, I would imagine that you are going to be pretty safe.
If you are wondering about your resort, for an upcoming trip...such as in a month or so, you will be able to tell if your resort has SW participating when you arrive at that resort.

Disney93 - we used it at BWV on April 1. Worked great. We had already printed out our boarding passes, but we were given another copy when we checked the luggage.

Well, you could be considering whether to 1) switch resorts to one that is participating or 2) do carry-on only vs checking baggage based on whether your resort is participating or not.

I suppose so. I stand corrected. But, I have to tell you...there is no way I would change resorts based solely on the ability to use RAC. Taking your bags back to the airport yourself really isn't that awful. Not having to is a nice perk, but it's not as if you have to walk back to MCO, lugging your bags behind you....:thumbsup2

Eh. I'm staying at a moderate in June with just me and my son. I've got no personal attachment to any of the mods and basically chose randomly. Had CBR at first. Then switched to POFQ just because the CS accepts my TIW card. So it wouldn't take much for me to willy nilly flip that again to a different mod for any kinda reason. ;)

And then... possible options for departure will vary based on whether or not I have RAC. We're planning on carry-on only for trip down. But if I have RAC, I'll check my carry-ons on departure morning, which saves me the hassle of messing with bell services to check/uncheck my carry-ons (the stuff I don't actually need for flying home, so it's okay to check). And then I'd schedule a town car or just get a taxi to just pick me up from a more convenient location instead of going all the way back to the resort to catch DME (I'd take DME if I had to get there to get my luggage anyway)... Hmmm. So it could potentially change my touring plan/departure day schedule.

But I think a lot. ;)

And I dread the SWA lines at MCO. Even curbside lines are HUGE in June.

Yeah... so... if this could all work out by May-ish, so I can have it all figured out in my head, that would be just great.:thumbsup2

My thoughts exactly. So as soon as we know for sure when CBR goes on RAC, I will be asking. Bet it starts the day after I leave for home, as my luck goes!

That's fantastic! Yours is the first post (that I've seen anyway) confirming RAC at BWV. We are thrilled!!! This calls for a dancing' banana...Or maybe two...

short question...did you check in yourself online and then print and they gave you the same boarding pass....or did they do it and print it. Thank you.:goodvibes

We used RAC for SW at BWV on March 21. I didn't even realize they checked us in until I saw the ppw under the door that morning. Got us great numbers too...A28 I think.

Thank you for the guests that took time to update us about RAC at the BWV. I knew SWA should be up and running by now but it's nice to hear from people that have used it. Thanks again  :dance3: :cheer2:

I have a grp of 34 traveling next Sunday, and we are staying at ASMovies. Has SWA extended their RAC service to the ASresorts yet? I did get the Mag Exp tags last week and would love to have them take the bags automatically, but it may be that the kids and adults retrieve their own. Thanks.
After further reading, are the RAC and Magical Exp separate entities? If so, what is the call on Mag Exp taking the bags automatically?

When coming in to MCO, guests traveling on any airline always have been able to have their luggage automatically collected and delivered to their resort using the DME luggage tags. RAC is a service available to check in for your flight and check your bags on the way HOME from WDW. SWA did not participate in RAC for a long time, but now participates at most WDW resorts including the All Stars.

All bags will definitely be tagged with the yellow ME tags before we leave here. Once we arrive, what are the chances that our bags will be on the same bus as us?
In all previous trips with family, we have rented cars and picked our own luggage up, so we have never used ME or any bus service. With 24 kids and more adults, I would like to think that their bags will arrive at the resort at the same time they do!
Appreciate the assistance.

Zero. Yellow-tagged bags are transported separately from the passengers. Only way they end up on the same bus is if you claim them yourselves (do not use yellow tags for this option) and drag them to the bus yourselves.

Thanks Carole - need to rethink if we want to drag them ourselves or let them arrive when they arrive. Considering that we are arriving at 5? at the hotel and then heading to the MK at 7:30 for late night, maybe we want them to arrive with us, so there is no need to unpack late that night or in the morning./

I just called Coronado Springs Resort (CSR) and spoke with a lady who told me that CSR will check-in my bags for Southwest Airlines (SWA) now. I asked her when this started, and she said last week.

CSR = 1-407-939-1000

I've never used this end of ME before. So I want to be sure what this means.

The day of departure, go to the Airline checkin podium with luggage and people. (We would have boarding passes from day before-the A,B,C passes).
They check the luggage and take it(?)
They look at our ID's and tell us what gate?
We don't see our luggage again until we land?
What if we have a late flight and must leave the room by late checkout time-cn we check the luggage then or wait until closer to bus boarding time(we may go the parks). Do we need to retrieve our luggage from the holding area if we plan to leave and come back?
