SW has finally joined RAC! (updated NOT ALL RESORTS!!!!!)

Have used RAC with united and american at several resorts, this is so exciting with SW. But, how is it working with your boarding passes at SW? Usually we get our boarding passes day before to get a good letter A, B, or C. but if you wait and have RAC pull your boarding pass? Can you get your boarding pass the day before yourself and they will still take your luggage?
Going to GF on Sat. and wondering how it works for SW.

Thanks for any info and this thread! mky:cutie:

I plan on buying Early Bird Check in for all of our flights through Southwest anyway, so the airline will take care of it.

Yes, you do tip the RAC people as you would curbside at the airport.

This thread explains participating airlines and RAC:

Thanks for reminding folks. I can't tell you how many times I've spent in the line and find myself being the only person tipping. RAC=curb side service. You are expected to tip curb side at the airport.

BTW == we are at the BCV right now, so will wander over to RAC this morning and check it out. We are flying Jetblue on Friday, but SW is always a choice for us too. See love JB though!

Please post any details for us happy SW people!:grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:
Having a good time?

You can (and should) still check in at the 24 hour mark. RAC will just reprint your boarding passes.

You're welcome...I'm glad you asked!

I hope RAC is operating at the GF in time for your trip. Have a Grand vacation!:cool1:

Oh, are you having fun at BCV? I hope your weather is warmer than we had the past two weeks.:goodvibes

Very exciting.

Will golf clubs work (if they meet the usual SW policy requirements?) I am wondering if the liability sign-off SW asks for at the airport would negate the RAC option.

Hello from the BCV. I stopped by the RAC/DME desk on my way through the lobby today and yes SW is now listed on the board of participating airlines. The desk was closed, but the list was posted on the post and it has Southwest Airlines now listed. So yes it's here at the BC/BCV.

Oh I hope they add BLT soon! That would be the icing on the cake if I don't have to worry about schlepping our bags back to the airport.:goodvibes

Hey gang...I started a thread on the DIS Unplugged board about this. Basically, all that's been officially announced right now in addition to Pop Century are:
All 3 All Star Resorts
Disney's Yacht & Beach Club

If the dates for the others are true they haven't officially been announced yet.

Thanks!
If you don't mind when you're checking your luggage, could you ask about they're plans to expand to other resorts. Still crossing my fingers for BLT

I will. I check out tomorrow :sad2: I'll remember to ask about other resorts.

Yes, actually up until today the weather has been great. Sunny and in the mid 70s all week except today. Today it is rainy and cloudy and expected to say like this until tomorrow. We check out tomorrow, so it was nice laying by the pool for the last 4 days!

I'm glad most of your trip was warm and sunny. :beach: Maybe the weather today will make it a tad easier to leave. :goodvibes

Easy travels home and thanks for the live RAC updates!:surfweb:

RAC (remote/resort airline checkin) is a service that allows you to check your bags right at the resort and get your boarding passes issued at the same time. Then, when you get to MCO, you go directly to security. BUT..you have to be flying on a 'participating' airline. SW is just starting to 'participate' at more resorts.
