I got our airline tickets for August and the priced dropped before we left, so I have funds. I used some of the funds to purchase one way tickets for December (8th) when the price was $59 and I can live with that. The return flight time frame just came out, 12/16 and the flight I want is $79. I have enough to purchase the one ticket and don't mind paying the difference for the 2nd because I really want the flight times. Now like all of you if the price drops on these tickets I will change for the lower fares. My balance of travel funds now says to be used by April, if I get money back from the tickets I now purchased using travel funds and cash when with the date be, 1 year from now or April 2007? Hope you can understand this.

I think I understand. Travel has to be completed within one year of the original purchase date.

Thanks, tha's what I thought. Guess I will try to wait and hope the flight is still available if the price comes down. The flight I booked down was $79 when the first set of December dates came out, and then for a couple of days went down to $59, that's when I bought. Maybe the return flight will do the same.

here's my advice... i don't know how many tickets you are buying or how much "funds" you have available, but buy as few tickets w/the remaining funds and use "new money" on a new ressie to buy the rest...

i.e. if you have $100 worth of funds, and need 4 tix at $79 each, buy the first two tix w/the funds that expire in april... buy the second two tix on a new reservation starting from scratch w/new money that won't expire (if you get a reduction) 'til august... it's a little extra work but you will have more flexibility...

You can also call SWA and ask for an extension on the funds that expire. I had funds that expired in February of this year and got a six month extension to the end of August. SWA actually sent me a voucher in the amount of the funds. I had booked another trip in May but since my funds expired in February I couldn't use them. With the extension, all I had to do was send in the voucher with a copy of my completed trip itinerary and SWA credited the funds back to my credit card.
