SW Flights are up: Go get em.

I am so disappointed! I was ready to book flights from Milwaukee this morning for 7 people. The fare was $119 each way. Not great, but not bad considering no baggage fees. The flight times, however, STINK! Only one flight each way - outbound 11:30 am and return flight 11:30 am. I do not want to leave our resort at 8:30 in the morning!

Guess you'll just have to add me to the list of holding out/booking elsewhere

Mine would be around $130 but that is normal for Albany to Orlando (I have seen $119 but that is about the lowest) What is annoying is I want to fly back on Oct 1st so I can't book a round trip yet, the dates only went to the end of September.

Im hoping those prices go down a little

maybe the labor day prices will come down and I can get a credit twoards our going to disney price.

SW fares are open, i was able to get $79 per person down(4 of us)

Only issue is now finding flight home. The only non stops from MCO to BDL were 9:30 am(too early) or 5:30 pm(too late).

If i were to take the 5:30 flight, what would i do with my bags if i were to spend that day at the parks as SW does not participate in Resort Airline Check in? Could i keep them at the hotel and they would hold them for since i would need to get the ME back to airport from my resort anyway.

If you take the 5:30 flight, ME picks you up 3 hours before, so 2:30 p.m. SWA now does resort check-in, so you can check your bags at your resort and only have your carry-ons with you for the day - bell services will hold whatever bags you have until you're ready to get on the ME.

Still need to wait. WE are coming home 10/2 figures. The rate is ok 119.00 from manchester. I'm holding out for airtran since they fly out of my local airport. I still didn't think it was that bad 1020.00 for 4. Last year after bag fees and seat assignments we were at 900.00. But the drive is also easier.

Everyone should be happy with anything under $129 - plus remember SWA does NOT charge for bags, another $25 charge for other airlines.
I just paid $423 roundtrip per person using SWA and Airtran for our upcoming March Break trip so that should make everyone feel better paying $129 or close to it. I would have yelled hooraay to get anything for $119 one way.
We are going in October, so of course now I have to wait until they release those dates! Happy travels everyone!

I am right there with you. Do you think if enough of us hold out, the prices would drop? My flight out would cost $129.00 (last year 92.00) and coming home, get this...$170.00-NO WAY!!!

Oil prices are up again. They are up more than $20 per barrel in just the last month. Airlines can't give their seats away as much as we would like them to be generous. I hope your flights come down, but I would have a "buy price" (including any luggage charged) in mind and jump on it when you see it.

Ok, so i was convinced to do the 5:30 flight (was $110 an hour ago when i booked by flight to Disney) I just looked and it shot up to 139$!!

we stayed at at boardwalk in October 2010 and southwest was doing resort checkin then there- I thought is was wdw wide now? did make life alot easier I hope they didnt discontinue

Our prices out of BUF are up about $50 pp each way from last year. I was a little dissapointed but booked them. The prices of fights were going up as I tried checking out. Just happy to have the flights!

I feel the same way. We are also coming home Labor Day weekend (that Sunday out of Islip, and for the nonstop, later flight they want $170.00 YIKES!) I am thinking of booking my flight down at $129.00 and holding out for the return in hopes it comes down. Maybe I'll luck out and my flight down will drop and I can use the credit toward my flight home. All this is giving me a !

I did this for my flight in January. They will give you a credit towards your next flight. I think it expires eventually but didn't pay much attention past that it would still be good in time for my trip in September.

I got great prices for 9/16 and 9/26 from BDL. Just $79 each way nonstop. I am very happy!

I got $79 from bld to mco for departure on 9 15 but can't book return yet (oct 2) anyone know when those dates will open up???

I've done this several times...I rebook at the cheaper price..they give you a credit that has to be used within 1 year....I just booked my trip in April and used credits from last years trip....BTW...I've been watching SW for 2 weeks now....I finally got a good price today....$99 each way !!!

Yeah, sorta. When you go in to cancel, it asks you if you want to book another flight...you just select the one you already have, and then they give you the credits. You have a year to use them...just make sure you save your confirmation number, as you will need that to use the credits next time.

I'm looking at the same thing - flights down are $129 and the last flight coming back is $170 ($148 for earlier in the day). Our dates are 8/26 - 9/3. I live real close to JFK, but like to fly SW out of Islip. It's usually A LOT cheaper, plus I have relatives real close to the airport and I can leave the car with them. This is very disappointing.
