SW Fares for PVD to MCO 12/26 - Expensive

Anyone else flying out of PVD on 12/26? Has anyone flown at this time before? Do the rates go down any? I know that it is the busiest time of the year, but I didn't expect to pay quite as much for out tickets.

I was afraid to not reserve flights because it is Christmas week, so I just booked flights for five us 12/26-01/02 and it came up to $2093.00!! Hopefully the fares will come down a lot more between now and then. I called my daughter-in-law to check the times with her and within 15 minutes I lost the rate that was $20 less than the one I ended up with. Quickest $100 I ever spent without even trying.

I did book the flights separately since one of them is refundable and I don't want to get caught up in the whole tickletless travel funds thing like I have in the past. I'll only have ticketless travel credit for one flight, if the rates go lower.

I would expect them to do sales on these fares. Every Tues. they change the internet specials and also Ding is a daily thing and you may get lucky.

Last year I never saw a DING for Christmas week. All the dates/times always came up unavailable. I watched Dec 30/31 faithfully and these dates never went on sale on dinged. Hopefully this year, it will be different as I am watching Dec 26 for a relative.

I also booked Southwest today on December 26th-see you in Disney! I agree, the prices seemed high. However, I called my mom to make sure it was okay to buy the flight and when I came back about 20 minites later to do so my fares had gone down $40 apiece. The internet special category was available all of a sudden. Sounds like I got lucky! Anyway, I figure it's Christmas week so we just have to pay more.

I was planning on flying down on 12/27 but the rates are too high at this point. If they don't come down, it looks like we will be driving to WDW this Christmas.
