SW Ding Fare--where are they when I need them?!

So for our past Disney trips, we've managed to get cheap DING fares on Southwest, usually about 2 months prior to the trip. I was hoping to do the same this time. We leave 12/11 and I still have yet to see any DING fares for our cities (RDU --> MCO, then TPA --> RDU). Is this typical? We've never gone in December.

I did see a discounted fare posted the other day, which gives us great rates for the leg going down on the 11th, but still nothing at all on the return (12/18). Is that just not going to happen b/c it's so close to Xmas?

Any suggestions? We could drive...it's about 10 hours down, but longer coming back since we'll be visiting family in Naples. That just doesn't sound nearly as fun. ;)

You're lucky. I only saw DING fares for any of the cities within a couple hours from my home to MCO for about 3 months in the couple of years I've had it installed.

If the fares for your preferred flights have already gone up from the lowest fare showing that month then I'd say they've already sold enough seats to not have to offer DINGs or drop prices. Prices only seem to drop on the flights still in the lowest pricing tier.

Looks like driving is going to be the option for this December. Enjoy your time at Disney.

As of recent it seems the MCO market is saturated for SWA. I sometimes can get occasional ding fares from mco home but never to mco. what makes it worse we are one of the largest hubs for SWA. My first class ticket on COA/UA was cheaper then two tickets for SWA on my trip for December. I know SWA was having a sale going on but not sure when the dates were and I can only imagine there are black out dates.

Good luck with finding DING! fares.

ALL of the Dings that I have seen for December have only been from Dec 1 to Dec 16. I am guessing that their flights from Dec 17 and on are booked pretty well due to holiday travel.

I installed Ding last spring. I have yet to see a good deal on anything from it.

I watched very carefully for our trip in November which usually produces a pretty regular DING and nothing this year. I did not see any for Sept or Oct which is very unusual. My flight prices did go down though and I modified to get the credit so my fares were really decent.

Good luck!
