SW ?? Changing departing flight only

I have flown SW several times and have also rebooked, canceled, and gotten and used credit, so I thought I knew how it worked. This time I'm stumped! I booked my SW flights online, promotional fares. We have decided we would like to extend our vaction by leaving for Orlando one day early. We want to keep the return flight we have booked. However, both of these are on the same ressie, and the return flight is no longer available at the price we paid. How can I rebook the departing flight without cancelling the return flight? Does anyone know? Thanks!

Two weeks ago my husband had to change his departure flight and wanted to leave the return flight the same and it was not a problem. Both flights were on the same ressie. He just called and spoke to the SW customer service and they changed the departure flight to the one he needed and left the other the same. They issued a new confirmation number and he didn't have any trouble when he traveled.

You can change just one "leg" of your flight. The only problem is that the price of the existing "leg" (the one your not changing may change or get more expensive)That is what happen to me when I tried to change my departing flight from a flight with a stop to a non stop earlier in the day. The total went up in price about $90 each. It states on your reservation that the price could change if you change anything about the reservation.

Forgot to add that you can do this online at the service center- I think it says "Changing existing reservation"

Just wanted to say thanks. I did change the departing flight at the website with no problem. The price of the returning flight did not increase, so everything went well!
