We have not needed to fly anywhere in about 2 years, so I haven't been keeping up with SW's fares and DINGS. The next airfare schedule is supposed to be released around March 23, and we are going to DW at the beginning of Oct. In the past when SW released their new dates, the fares were really good for that first day. Does SW still have good prices when the new dates are released? Or should I wait for a DING? What are some of the DING fares that you have gotten lately?

If the price is comfortable for you when SW releases their fares, I would book. You can always change your reservation if a DING fare becomes available. Personally, I haven't seen a lot of DING fares to Orlando.

I booked $59 flights out of MCI the day Southwest opened flights. Prices were going up while I was trying to get other family members to book that same day. And now they are WAY higher. Of course, we're going in March, so maybe those fares have nowhere to go but up. I've been watching for a Ding because our flight home leaves early Saturday morning and I would love to stay another day...no luck so far though.

I agree w/a pp, if you can find fares you like, I'd scoop em up!

Years ago, I would wait for a great Ding fare, but I haven't seen any great Ding fares in a very, very long time. For my last few trips to WDW, I've booked as soon as the dates open, and usually they have been as good as any Ding fares (or should I say: the Ding fares nowadays are pretty bad ).
I'll keep watching the Dings for my May trip, but chances are that the fares will be the same as they were when originally released. :rolleyes1

I fly out of Buffalo. Within the last two years I have booked at least 5 trips on SW, all were booked the first day the schedule opened. Not one of my flights ever wented down in price, most went up quite a bit. Dings, what are Dings??? LOL! Flying out of Buffalo, Dings are non-existant!!!!!! :confused3

I've been signed up for Dings for 3 years now and have yet to ever book one for my itinerary, my dates, or a price better than I got when released. (IAD to MCO). I would book the price you are comfortable with and go from there.
