SW and wheelchair

I'm flying SW to WDW and I have a connecting flight. I recently had foot surgery so I will need a wheelchair at the connecting airport since I won't be able to walk quickly. Does anyone know if I have to call about this or if I just inform the people at the originating airport that I will need the wheelchair so I'll make the connection.
