Do teenagers need I.D. To board on SW? Last I e we flew was almost 4 years ago and dd was only 11 and didn't need I.D. Now she's 15 and I can't find anything on the site saying if she needs I.d. Or not. She already has her boarding pass.

Thanks!

When boarding SW I have only needed ID to board once, and that was because we boarded and gave up our boarding passes then had an issue with the plane and had to get off so they needed our ids to check against the list since no one had passes anymore. I don't know what they did for children on that one.

But normally SW doesn't require ID to board, I only need my ID to get through security.

Check the Tsa website. You only need proof of age for southwest if your child is a lap baby. I believe you don't need Id under 18 for Tsa (I'm sure if I'm wrong someone will correct me) but the Tsa website will lay it all our for you

No id required. I have a 16 year old DD. She was 15 last month when we flew SW to Colorado for Spring Break. Just tell TSA you are 15 and no problem. SWA didn't ask for id at all.

We fly to Florida every year on Southwest. You do not need any ID for a teenager. My daughter is 14 and she doesn't need anything.

Passengers under 18 do not need any ID to pass through security. This requirement has nothing to do with any specific airline; it's a TSA issue.

Parents should be required to provide proof of age to any airline for children under two traveling as a lap child without a ticket. This is an FAA requirement. In reality some airlines are more strict about enforcing this than others. SWA has a reputation for being very strict with their enforcement.

If a child is traveling on a SWA "youth" fare they will be required to provide proof that they qualify for that age-restricted fare. These fares aren't commonly booked, however, so this requirement isn't relevant in most cases.
