We fly out of MCO on Nov 2 and both afternoon flights seem to be sold out online. While this is no big deal as we have already purchased our flights, do they have a tendancy to overbook and "bump" people?

We are flying with a group of 7. Four of those (my kids and their grandparents) are booked on Air Tran (so they have seat assignments). My DH, myself and my brother are all booked on seperate tickets on SW. Our main issue is that we have one vehicle to drive home sitting at the airport, not a huge deal under ideal circumstances but it is 1.5 hr drive.

Do we want two vehicles (double the parking price) to be safe? Do they ask people to be bumped? I can always leave DH and Dbrother behind for a free flight in the future if I have my ducks in a row ahead of time.

TIA

I have been on plenty of full flights and never been bumped. In my experience when they are overbooked for whatever reason they ask people over the intercom at the gate to come forward if they are willing to switch flights. Usually there is an offer for a free flight voucher etc so many passengers are willing to take a later flight. If it were me I wouldn't worry.

Thanks. I would not mind being bumped for a later flight in the day but we are the last one going out for the evening.

Don't worry about this; take only one car. Usually they can find enough volunteers to give up their seats without involuntarily bumping anyone.

I wouldn't worry about it unless you want to be bumped. Check-in right at 24 hours. Problem with AirTran is that free future flight can be hard to book from what I've read.
