Are they ok to fly? Have only flown Co to MCO from Cle. princess:

If you use the search function on this thread, you'll find hundreds of threads about SW - easily the most talked about airline. Most people love them for the low fares. For some, the low fares are the only appeal, for others like me, we just think it's a great airline all around. You'll also find some people who don't want to deal with SW's non-assigned seat policy (you'll find tons of threads explaining the way to deal with that too.)

Best of luck,
Sal

they have a great fare right noe 34-39 ow cle to mco. Just don't knoe if I can trust them princess:

I've flown SW to Orlando and Vegas from Cleveland. I've never had any problems. I always pre-print my boarding pass from home at 12:01am the day I'm leaving and I'm good to go. Also I make sure to only get the flights that have a 30-40 minute stop over in Nashville. Those are the quickest going to Orlando from Cleveland. You don't have to de-plane or anything. For $34 to $39 you sure can't beat SW! If you have any other questions about SW out of Cleveland feel free to PM me! :wave2:

Their is a thread on this forum that tracks the Dings for Olando. You might want to subscribe to it to catch those wonderful Ding specials.

They are the most stable, profitable airline in the US right now. You can trust them.

Oh, and Lisa, be sure to note that SW has changed the online check-in policy. It's now starts 24 hours ahead of your flight time, not 12:01 AM the morning of.

SW is fine. I like CO better, though. Most of the CO flights are nonstop. SW advertises cheap fares to MCO, but they never seem to be for the days we need.

I've flown both Southwest and Continental, and I prefer Continentals non-stop flights with assigned seating. It's much less of a hassle to me, plus Southwest's fares were actually higher when I went.

SW had a Ding last night for 39.00 ow to Mco till June 9.

My DD does not want to fly SW for this reason.
I will be traveling alone with 3 kids so the non-stop with assigned seating works better for me.
The price was really hard to pass , just wish CO would come down some more for June fares. princess:

We have used it a couple of times now and had no real problems with it.

The attendants are funa nd pleasant and we have found them to run on time.

My biggest upset was missing yesterdays DING! How can you pass up an under $40 flight? :confused3

When we left Orlando to return to Cleveland on SW, I saw many familys upset because the couldnt get seats together. You have to get an "A" boarding pass or you probably will be seperated, and people get in line over an hour early just to get good seats. I just dont think its worth it for the hassle, unless you get a really cheap fare and I've found Continental to be close to SW fares most of the time.

With a nonstop flight to Orlando, Continental is the better airline, IMHO.

The nonstop not only saves time, but if there is bad weather anywhere you only have to worry about one plane and not others.

MRF - I don't want to disagree with what you saw, but I've fly SW all the time and have seen maybe 1-2 families that were visible upset in dozens and dozens of flights (and I've seen at least as many upset people on pre-assigned non-SWW flights). I think the worst I ever saw was a 16-year old girl freaking out that she couldn't sit by her boyfriend (people moved to accommodate her, as they did in the other problem situations I saw.)

Groups of 2 with A and B passes are almost guaranteed to be able to sit together. Larger groups with A passes are almost guaranteed to be able to sit together, and those with B's should be able to sit in groups of 2 or more near each other.

The people who get in line an hour or more do so for their own reasons. But, unless you have 1-2 specific seats in mind, there are no "good seats" that will be gone if you don't line up an hour in advance. (Note that if you do have 1-2 specific seats in mind, those are probably the ones that aren't even available on other airlines if you aren't a double-gold-extra-platinum flyer.)

That said - I'd take a non-stop on just about any airline over a connecting flight - even on SW.

PS - Who's your employer again MRF? I know SW isn't for everybody, but you really, really seem to hate them.

USA3000 flys nonstop too, but they don't fly to Orlando everyday.

Not sure how accurate this info is, but my SIL called USA3000 about direct flights to Orlando for May and the CSR at USA3000 told her that they only fly Cleveland to Orlando "seasonally" (whatever that means :confused3 ) and that there weren't going to be any flights to Orlando in May.

I went to USA3000's website and the calendar doesn't go out to May either.

If it's true, not sure what the thinking is...I mean, why would they only offer flights seasonally? It is isn't like it becomes an UN-popular destination after April?

I would rather not deal with the hassle on my vacation!.. and no I dont hate SW. There just not my first choice, lighten up!

NOW they are teasing me!! just got another DING today....

Cleveland to Orlando for $34-$39 One-Way!
- Fare is valid for travel everyday, March 1 through June 9, 2006 only

I do see a flight with one stop, don't change planes.
If only I could convince DD who is afraid to fly to do this. The only thing I don't like is the no pre-seating. princess:

The total would only be 210.00 for 4pp

THat is weird. Next time I talk to my sister I will ask her if she knows anything. She is a FA for them out of Cleveland.

Hoorey! :cool1: :cheer2: :Pinkbounc

The Cleveland DING came back today. Flight times are pretty limited but I found one for May that will work!

I cancelled the one way and rebooked it as a DING and saved myself about $60. Not bad at all!

Then I found anther DING that will work for a short trip (non-MCO) I have to make in March. :teeth: Man and I just spending money to save money! :rotfl:

Watch next week it will drop to $29 and I will have to do it all over again!
