I was thinking about getting one of those tents that hook to the back of your open Minivan so the kids could sleep in the back of the van. I was wondering if this type would work at FW since the tent part would have to be pitched right at the end of the parking pad. I'm assuming vehicles have to stay on the paved part. Would the partial hookup camp sites work for this? Has anyone used these type of tents at Fort Wilderness? thanks

I guess no one has used this kind of tent. Does anyone have a picture of the tent sites that shows the relationship of the tent pad to the parking pavement?

I don't have one, but I did see someone camp that way once at FW. They kept the vehicle on the concrete with the tent on top. Then they put a screen room over top of the picnic table in the center of the pad. It looked like a good set up. The couple stayed mostly in the screen room, and just slept in the vehicle tent. Since this was pretty much the same as tent camping, this was in a partial-hookup loop. HTH
