Suspension of Virgin Online and Twilight Check-In at Gatwick!

Have just noticed the following on the Virgin Atlantic Website:

"Virgin Atlantic regrets to inform all passengers departing from London Gatwick that Twilight Check In and online check in are currently unavailable until further notice. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and would advise passengers to leave plenty of time before the scheduled departure of their flight to check in at the airport."

Not sure of the reasoning behind it? This may ruin a few peoples Mickey Holiday plans! Hopefully it doesn't carry on for too long! Just imagine all those queues in the morning to check-in when we've been used to the checking in online and the night before! :scared1:

No I don't know the reason but Downtown Disney check in was also down last week. We had a 1hr30 mins queue checking in at Gatwick and a 2 hr check in queue at MCO when we came home. Nightmare :scared1:

Hope it's soon sorted for anyone travelling soon :flower:
 
Just heard from Virgin that this is just temporary and it should be back up and running within 24/48 hours.

Hurray! :tongue:
 

The extra queueing time out of the UK is almost certainly caused by the need for the airlines to gather API details on your address, etc, in the US at flight check-in. This is making for longer check-ins all-round, so it is definitely worth making sure you are there the full 3 hours beforehand right now :(

I Agree :)

I was in shock for a moment when I read the thread title as we always take advantage of the twighlight check-in. I feel sorry for those people that this will affect :(
 
We've been trying to check-in online all evening!!. :mad: :mad: :mad: :scared:
Have spoken to someone at Virgin on 3 seperate occassions, who have been no help whatsoever, and didn't even give us a reason.
Thanks to the DIS for actually telling us what is really going on!! :hyper2:
Sums up the recent thread about Virgin's Customer Seevice doesn;t it (especially when the Call Centre doesn't even know what is going on with it's own website!!)
Oh well, I suppose we'll have to get up early (that will amuse DW!) :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
 
Oh no, I am sorry to hear that. What a pain that is when you've made plans around it being available.

Still, the main thing is you are off to WDW tomorrow :teeth:
