Suspect arrested in Annie Le's murder

I usually do not follow crime cases, but this case has fascinated me. I'm a Yale grad, so that is one reason. Apart from that, I find it interesting that so many family members held the same job in the same lab. I also want to know if the release of steam that triggered the fire alarm on the day of the murder was deliberate. What was the motive for the killing? I'll be following this case closely.

While all murders are tragic, the fact that Annie Le was murdered the week of her wedding makes this case especially poignant.

I also am interested in this case. I have been meaning to watch Nancy Grace because she will beat this one down to the last detail.

I am glad that they were able to get a suspect here.

It is amazing to me that she did not know she was being stalked/targeted by this guy.

OK, I know there was no "romantic relationship" between them but that doesn't mean the guy was stalking her and wanted to assault her.

I dont know what you mean. I didnt say the guy was stalking her and wanted to assault her.:confused3

I was just posting what I heard based on LukenDCs motive question.

The "romantic relationship" angle is in response to the accusations that she WAS having a romantic affair. It had been blogged all over the place and I think it the "no romantic relationship" statement was in part a response to that.

As far as your question to me, I don't know what you are saying...I know you didn't say that.:confused3

What I don't get is why they took the DNA sample and then let him go. Were they HOPING that he would try to run or kill himself? The press conference two days ago said that they could not make an arrest until they got a DNA match -- since when? Police arrest people on other evidence all the time, then get the DNA test to try to build a more solid case. The key card trail and the text messages, plus the scratches, should have been plenty enough evidence to justify an arrest.

I'm interested in that as well. Did he think it would be easier to get out of the building unnoticed if everyone was leaving at the same time?

I have not read anything about a romantic relationship between the two. I've been looking at newspaper websites, including the Yale Daily News. I have not been looking at people's blogs. I have read that he was a fanatic about workplace rules, although I'm not sure if they were the employer's rules or simply his own rules based on how he thought things should be done. He supposedly got very angry with people who did not comply with the rules.

I tried to watch the news conference when it was scheduled at 7:00. I tried to watch it when it was re-scheduled to 8:00. After that, I had to leave for work, so I missed it.

I don't read blogs either however it was reported at the beginning people were asking about it of course which was very upsetting....

Some people are suggesting that he killed her because he was upset about the way she treated the lab mice. I think there most likely was more to it than that, but I don't think there was a true romantic relationship (maybe an obsession on his part.)

I read that too. I also read he was a real control freak.

They don't know a motive yet, because he isn't talking. Bizarre to think her death was seemingly over mice. There was mention of possibly more charges pending. He strangled her, but it was a bloody crime too? That poor woman. What she must have gone through. Heartbreaking she was found on her wedding day. Terribly sad. :(
