Does anyone know where to get sushi at a counter service restaurant? I was thinking maybe in Japan at Epcot, but I don't remember there being a counter service place there (it's been 8 years since I've been to WDW so my memory's a bit rusty). Thank you!

Yakitori House is the counter service in Japan, and it's tucked in the back left of the pavilion. Behind the koi pond. If you don't mind supermarket sushi, it is ok. I would rather get the freshly prepared sushi at table service sushi bar.

The sushi at Yakatori House looked decent. I have never tried it before. I like the prepackaged rolls at Capt Cookes at the Poly.

In the evening, from 5-10pm you can get sushi at the sushi bar in the upstairs lobby of the POLY.

This! The sushi bar at the Poly serves as a coffee bar in the morning hours and converts to sushi for the afternoon/evening. The sushi is pricey but REALLY tasty. You can sit and eat there at a small counter/bar area or take it to go. I actually ordered mine to go and ate it on my balcony while I people watched.:thumbsup2

You can get prepackaged sushi from Starring Rolls and Sunshine Seasons.

It wasn't very good :confused3 I was looking forward to trying sushi from the Kona sushi bar because we have lunch reservations at Kona Cafe, but then I found out that you can only order off the sushi menu when the sushi bar is open (5-10 pm). :sad1::sad1: California Grill is still too expensive for me... Someday when I have a real job I'll eat there and have tons of amazing sushi

Thank you! My daughter loves sushi, but we couldn't get dinner reservations in Japan while we're in Disney. I was hoping to find good counter service sushi for her for lunch, but maybe we'll check out the sushi bar at the Poly instead.

Thanks for all your help!

Captain Cook's at the Polynesian and Gasparilla's Grill & Games both sell pre-packaged Sushi.

However in my opinion I would say the best Sushi is at the Polynesian's Kona Island Sushi Bar.

We loved the Sushi at Wolfgang Puck's Cafe. It was the best sushi I have ever eaten, better than California Grill or Teppan Edo (and definitely better than Tokyo Dining). They have a sushi bar, and during weekdays, they offer half price sushi rolls during happy hour. It was so incredible that we returned three times on one short trip to Disney (when we had not planned to visit the sushi bar at all).

My brother-in-law said it was so good, that he would drive 600 miles just to eat dinner there and then turn around and drive 600 miles back home.

Have you thought about Kimono's at the Swan/Dolphin. Right now Restaurant.com is offering a 25 gift certificate for $10. If you use the code SWEET(until 7/24) you can get it for $3 dollars. There are also several other swan/dolphin restaurants on restaurant.com.

Have fun!

I agree with this about Kimono's. If the OP is at Epcot, it's a boat ride away to the Swan/Dolphin boat dock. Or if you're ok with long walks, it's about a 10-15 minute walk to get to the Swan.

I'd rather do this sushi than Kona. I've done both. I've done California Grill and Wolfgang Puck Cafe sushi bar, as well. I'd say Kimono's and Wolfgang Puck have the best traditional sushi selection and high quality.

California Grill and Kona Sushi bar serve mostly higher priced specialty rolls with a few exceptions. And Kona has a poor variety if you want nigiri sushi or sashimi. Unless they've added more than just salmon, tuna or yellowtail in the past year or so. While I do like the rolls at these places, if I'm in the mood for traditional sushi, I'd go for Kimono's or Wolfgang Puck's on the West Side (Downtown Disney).

Another vote for Kimonos!!

Note: only dinner, no lunch. But if you go earlier, when it opens (5:30pm) it is usually not crowded.

Kona sushi bar is fun too, but always crowded when I am there.

For those who have been to Kimono's......can you get the sushi to-go or is it dine in only??? And same question for Wolfgang Puck...

Kimonos is dine in. I have been often and have not seen anyone picking up take out. (But I have taken home doggie bag of excess from dinner).

Do not know about WP, or if either will do take out even if not really the set up.
