Just wondering what people's opinions were of the sushi lounge in Japan at Epcot. Last time we went there it smelled so strongly and disgustingly of fish, that we decided against eating there. Is it normally like that? How are the rolls? Thanks! :)

We usually don't sit at the sushi bar but in the lounge. That way we can people and site watch from the large windows. Another option for great sushi is Kimonos in the Swan.

I love sushi! I had some about 2 years ago at Epcot. Was VERY good sushi & presented very nicely. I would go back in a minute.

Try it! I love the lounge for the view and it's a little more spacious than the tempura seating area. The sushi here has been excellent every time. Kimonos is also wonderful! Wolfgang Pucks has great sushi, but it seems to be the most expensive on property. Try some sake if you have never had it.

I have never been in the Matsuno-Ma lounge, but I did have a nice tempura meal at Tempura-Kiku once. They prepare the sushi in the center of the small dining area, so every now and then I could smell fish, but I mostly smelled my food. I don't really dig sushi, but my friend Jen (who was in Sushi Club all 4 years at UCF) counts Tempura Kiku and Kimono's as some of her favorites for Sushi.
Also, Wolfgang Puck (West Side) has a sushi bar, as well as the California Grill.

The sushi at California Grill was really good:D

I've eaten at both the Matsu Nomo Lounge in Epcot and Kimonos at the Swan and both are excellent !!!! I'm a very big sushi fan and very, very picky about my sushi. Both restaurants' fish was fresh and delicious. The rolls were wonderful.

The biggest differences between the two are location. Matsu Nomo has a lovely view overlooking Epcot, Kimonos has no view. Kimonos prices are slightly less than Matsu Nomo and they do have Karaoke later in the evenings.
