i always wondered if the sushi is good at Disney?

OK, I KINDA HAVE TO LAUGH! I MADE THIS COMMENT BECAUSE OF A YUMMY FOOD PIC ON THAT THREAD, AND I HAVE BEEN LOOKING TO SEE WHAT HAPPENED TO IT! DIDN'T KNOW I STARTED A THREAD WITHOUT MEANING TOO!:rotfl:

i always wondered if the sushi is good at Disney?

I have a pretty limited experience of sushi at WDW but I can tell you that the sushi we experienced at CG was the best sushi we have ever tasted in our whole lives. We are huge sushi fans and eat it every chance we get.

Right now, though, being pregnant and all, I have to forgo the sushi. That's really too bad because these wonderful pics have given me wicked, bad sushi cravings today. :worship:

We really like the sushi at Tokyo Dining. we have eaten there about 3 times this year and it has been great all 3 visits. There's also Kimono in the Swan, California Grill in the Contemporary Resort, and the "newer" Kona Sushi Bar in the Polynesian Resort. All good choice for sushi but with different atmosphere and price range.

We come from an area where there is tons of good sushi and we have found that the sushi at WDW is pretty good. Not the best we have had, but pretty good.

In addition to the places listed above, there is also sushi available at Wolfgang Pucks Cafe at DTD.

We enjoy the sushi at CG better than the other places we have tried at WDW.

I've done sushi at California Grill, Wolfgang Puck's Cafe on DTD West Side (at the sushi bar), and at Tokyo Dining. All of it has been good.

I haven't done sushi at Kimono's or the Kona Cafe sushi bar, but I'm always hearing great things about both.

We picked up sushi several times (to take back to our room & enjoy while viewing the MK fireworks) from the Kona Sushi Bar at the Poly this December. It was outstanding! :goodvibes

My fav was the Kona Combo Plate - luau California roll, salmon sashimi, tuna poke ($13.99). Very, very tasty... esp. the Tuna Poke. We also enjoyed the Kona Crab Cake Roll - fresh jumbo lump crab cake, avocado, and an Asian tartar sauce ($10.99).

I've tried sushi just about everywhere it is available at WDW. The CG was a bit disappointing on my last visit. I have always enjoyed Kimonos (and the 20% DVC discount makes it even better). Tokyo Dining does offer some tasty rolls (Dynamite and Volcano). The selections at the Kona Sushi bar are all excellent in both presentation and flavor. Puck's has a good variety also.

We eat sushi a few times a month and have found the sushi at WDW to range from good to OUT OF THIS WORLD! :) The following pictures are from various visits, Aug 2007, Aug 2008 & Oct 2008. Enjoy :thumbsup2

We've tried sushi at CA Grill, Kimonos, Tokyo Dining and Wolfgang Puck's Sushi Bar.

They were all good, but we thought Puck's was the best in part because we could sit at the bar and watch everything being made and interact with the chef (who also gave us free sushi ... so maybe we're biased ... ;) ).

Kimonos is a close second ... they had beautiful presentation and amazing variety. We definitely plan on trying them again on another trip.

CA Grill and Tokyo Dining were also good, just a step below the other two in our opinion.

Just had sushi for the first time on our trip in early December. We walked up to the Kona Sushi Bar at the Poly. It was EXCELLENT. If anyone one in your party does not like sushi they can still order off the regular Kona Cafe menu.

The Dynamite roll at Tokyo Dining is fantastic! I love the different textures and very fresh the times I have had it

Can't wait to go back!

Yummy pics! i am making steak for dinner, but now i want SUSHI!!!!! Sounds like disney knows sushi! why have i not heard of the poly sushi bar? i think i will have to go there in june!! My hubby does not like sushi, what a shame!

I'm glad I saw this thread! Sushi is a favorite treat of my DS, well his momma loves it too, lol. I printed up a certificate for a sushi dinner for Christmas for him even. Kona is on our list. I think he already has decided what he wants from the pics. Thanks for sharing.

OMGosh!!! Love all the pics! I would be in sushi heaven having all those......so I'm planning on doing just that beginning in 39 days!!!! :lmao: I promise to bring back photos to share

I highly recommend Kimonos at the Swan:lovestruc excellent sushi and a terrific atmosphere...karaoke after 9:00pm

Does anyone know when the Kona Sushi becomes available? I realize it's a coffee and pastry shop in the mornings, but are they open for lunch and dinner with sushi, and if so, what time do they open and when do they close?
