Sushi at Disney (moved from food pic thread)

Does anyone know when the Kona Sushi becomes available? I realize it's a coffee and pastry shop in the mornings, but are they open for lunch and dinner with sushi, and if so, what time do they open and when do they close?

Hmmm...good one question! I would like to know this too. I need to plan my attack on the WDWorld of sushi in February.:darth:

They open at 4pm I believe.
When we went in Sept it was so good. We just got it as an apt. as we waited for our table at Kona.

Another thumbs up for the sushi at Tokyo Dining. And the view is incredible.

I love Sushi!!! The best I had so far at WDW was at the California Grill. I can't wait to try it at Kona!

We've done Kimonos, Japan in Epcot (QS and TS before the remodel), Cali Grill...last trip we walked by Kona Cafe and it looked great. The chef was very nice, but we had just come from 'Ohanas, so we were stuffed. He let us take a menu, and the bar was full. I'd love to try it next trip!

My only complaint was that some items can be pricey at WDW. Of course Cali is a great place to dine, but it's still a bit pricey.

A few years ago I sat at the bar at WP across from the Virgin store, ate sushi and drank Japanese draft beers. DW and DDs shopped and by the time they returned to meet me I was :cloud9:

19 days 8 hours left for us and we plan to hit a lot of sushi locations. It will be a nice treat to the DBF since i don't like sushi.

Current reservations at:

Cali Grill, Kona and Tokyo dining

Ah man! i have 165 days till I'm there!! enjoy some sushi for me!!!

Ooh - I jus thought of this....not sushi exactly, but a very good deal for sushi lovers.

At The Land's food court - they have a seared tuna salad that comes with two good sized chunks of fresh tuna. It's not raw, but it's lightly seared - if you've ever had seared tuna sushi its about the same. The salad, at last check was under $10 - and counts as an option on the DDP.

plus if you go with any non-sushi eaters, there a re a number of other options there to choose from.

One other pointer - the sushi bar at Kona is not part of the Kona cafe. As I recall, there were a few items on the Kona menu, but not most of it.

14 days until my trip at the Swan!

Kimono's for sure (at least once)
Kona Cafe for the Tuna Oscar
Teppan Edo and maybe some more sushi

I cannot wait!!!
