Sushi at California Grille/Dining Plan

Sorry if this has been answered before, but my search did not yield the answer. We will be on the basic Disney Dining Plan this summer. Are we able to order Sushi as our entree? The price of most of the suchi is the same as the entrees. Thanks!

I'm curious to know this answer too b/c we have ADR's there in September and my brother is a huge sushi fan.

You can get the sushi as your entree. But be warned, that's a very poor use of DDP credits.
Under the basic DDP, you are paying approximately $32 per TS credit -- so paying $64 approximately for a signature dinner at the California Grill.
If you get a $23 sushi rolls... and $10 dessert and $3 beverage, throw in tax -- You're still losing over $20 on the meal.

If you're on the DxDP, you can get most of the sushi as an appetizer. But if you are on the basic DDP, I'd skip using the credits and just pay OOP for the meal.

At most, if not all Signature restaurants, YES. My wife and our friend shared at Artists Point. My wife and daughter shared at Brown Derby.

Can you split the ticket at CA Grill, and then pay one meal with the DDP and one meal OOP? I would like to get the Sushi as my entree, and as a previous post pointed out, this is a bad use of 2 dining credits. However, my wife will order an expensive steak, which will be a good use of the 2 credits. Thanks!

Yes you can. Just let your server know who will be using dining credits and what will be paid for OOP. You can do this at any restaurant that accepts the dining plan.
