I'd be more inclined to think that what the NY governor signed-in was a "Susan B. Anthony DAY" (a commemorative date)
rather than a state "holiday."

Yes - there are many DAYS that are noted, like Arbor Day and St. Patrick's Day but not noted as an official state holiday. And once I saw that the info came from Wiki, I looked at the reference and gave the link for that since Wiki is just based on what people want to write on it.

I'm from frickin rochester and I've never heard of this holiday either lol.

I lived in NY for 17 years and never heard of it either!

BUT, you can bet your bottom SBA dollar it WILL be crowded the week of President's Day.

Just noting that the Federal holiday is technically still called "Washington's Birthday," not President's Day.

As far as I'm concerned if Government Offices aren't closed it isn't normally a holiday that is recognized as resulting in large amounts of people converging on places such as WDW or your local shopping mall because they have the day off and need someplace to go. Of course one big exception to that is St. Patrick's Day where each year many people in this country whether or not they trace ancestors to Ireland call in sick to work and attend the local St. Patty's Day parade, drink beer or whiskey, eat corned beef & cabbage and go back to normal the following day.

Just to note - there are NO national holidays where all business are closed by law. The Federal government, i.e. the US government, does not control that. That is at the state level. And, even at that state level, businesses can choose to remain open. Think about Labor Day - where workers are supposed to get the day off - did you shop that day?
