Hi. I'm just looking at 2017 February Florida national holidays and I notice this one will be happening when I hope to go. Will the parks be very busy this day? Are shops, businesses and schools closed?

Also..

Lincons birthday? 12th Feb. Are schools etc closed on this day.

Monday, Feb. 15 is Presidents' Day -- a national holiday. Lots of schools have that day off, making it one of the busiest weekends of the mid-January-early March time period at Disney.

I'm looking at the 2017 dates Presidents' Day is 20th that year I hope to be gone by then!

Susan B. Anthony Day is not any kind of national holiday.
It goes basically unnoticed by most people.

In fact, this is the first time I've ever heard it even mentioned...
Ever.

When I saw the title of this thread, I figured that you were going to ask something
about Epcot's American Adventure attraction.
SBA is one of the historical figures who makes a brief appearance in that show.

Oh ok thank you! I was looking online at holidays in Florida and that one came up. I wonder when the princess running thing will be in 2017? Does it happen on any set date in February?

Is lincons birthday a holiday?

This thread has gone nuts!
So, I have edited my answer...

We celebrate "Washington's Birthday," which is a US National "Monday Holiday."

This one "Monday Holiday" MIGHT (depending on which US state you reside) commemorate
two US presidents' birthdays,
George Washington and Abe Lincoln, combined into one Monday holiday.
If so, the date is often called "President's Day."

The actual date of George Washington's birth does not matter in regard to the date on which the Monday holiday is celebrated.

It seems the web page I looked at was rubbish, lol so no SBA day and no Lincoln Day. We hope to go 3rd-18th Feb 2017 and unless the princess marathon is on or large groups from South America visit it should be quiet.

I was beginning to wonder where I'd been that I never knew about the Susan B Anthony Holiday. Strange someone found it on a list of holidays.

As I understand it, it's a day when Americans are all supposed to clean out their spare change bins and cash in one of the most unpopular and ill-conceived coins ever issued by the US Mint... the SBA dollar.

Many northern states have not only that day off, but the whole week. Combine that with winter weariness, and you get a lot of us fleeing the scene and heading to Florida.

As others have mentioned, forget about Susan B. Anthony "holiday".

Lincoln's Birthday (Feb 12) isn't as much a holiday anymore, as it was combined with Washington's Birthday (Feb 22) into President's Day, which I think is the 3rd Monday in February, wherever that may land. However, some banks and public institutions (probably not schools, though) still have Lincoln's as a holiday. I work in the public sector and got Lincoln's off until last year. In 2017, Lincoln's falls on a Saturday, so some banks may be closed that day and very few institutions may close on Friday. I would expect the impact on park attendance to be almost zero.

Way more crowd inducing than SBA day would be Super Bowl if in Florida, Daytona 500 or Mardi Gras. If they are in early Feb., like they can be at times.

Mardi Gras, yes.

We have lots of recent history concerning Super Bowls in Florida vs. WDW crowds.
Many here where carefully watching when, three years out of four in a row, the Super Bowl was held in Florida
(Miami x2 and Tampa.)

No increased crowds seen at WDW, whatsoever.

Mardi Gras is 28th Feb in 2017. I didn't even think of super bowl! Glad there has been no crowed increase. When princess run is on is it busy? Or is that just restricted to MK?

Don't worry about the race activities if your main concern is riding park attractions.
