for spoiler info - here's the code for a "black box" that we do on the big brother thread.

if you can't remember the code - just quote a prior message with a black box, and re-write the text.

this is what the code looks like, you have to remove the space after the "<"

always make sure to "close" your tags by putting the matching < /tag> at the end

this is what it will show up as - highlight below to read.

so just in case you want to post something that not everyone might want to read - this is a good thing to use I feel.

honestly - the pig didn't bother me at all...i knew they wouldn't show anything to gory. i found the whole ritual rather intersting.

I want to smack Eliza. Like Scout or Twila said - she wouldn't shut up! I see her as another Amber though...(heck, she even kinda LOOKS like Amber)...she's going to coast I think once the teams are mixed male/female. (which I'm assuming they'll do at some point.)

When are men going to realize that they just can't do the balance beam? (and that was a TINY beam!)

I agree, I like using it on the big brother thread, it keeps all the info on one thread but you don't have to read the spoilers if you don't want to!

Stinkerbelle - Thanks for the information on the "black box".

I enjoyed the show last night. Didn't watch the pig thing at the beginning. (Had to tape it for a meeting, so just fast forwarded that part).

I love to hear all the men get upset when they lose to the women. They just can't believe they lost. 9 big strong men, big deal. Women work better as a team, men work better as an individual.

Should be a interesting season.

Does anyone know if they will reshow this first episode? Ivan was still bothering us and power went off around 8:15. I know sometimes they reair the first show, but I don't see any signs of that.

I didn't mind the pig thing either. I didn't even notice who Brook was until they voted him out.The cameras weren't focusing on him as much as the others. Chris should have gone for sure. :bounce:

Thankfully, I read this thread yesterday so I knew the pig thing was coming and I was able to tell DS not to watch. It's one thing to know that that kind of stuff happens, but it's another to actually see it.

I didn't get much feel for Brook last night, either, so no feelings one way or the other now that he's gone.

I don't think Scout will be around for long. First, she wanted to stay put and not try to find their camp in the dark. Then she was awfully slow in the challenge - if Chris had been able to make it across the balance beam after 2 or 3 tries, it would have been a much tighter finish.

Looks like on both teams they're going to have the "old" folks vs. the "young ones" just like the Amazon.

I was impressed with how well Chad can get around with his artificial leg. Wonder if they have any kind of provisions for what to do if the artificial leg happens to break or something?

I was wondering the same thing. All that mud and rain can't be good for his leg.
I havent decided who I like and dont like. I hate the beginning of the season, you really dont 'know' anyone so its harder to follow.

I agree with you BethanyF. Way to soon to see who I like and don't like. You have to get to know them better.

I also was wonder how Chad was going to do with his leg. It was full of mud when he was done.

Did they show he going over the Balance Beam? How did he do it?

nothing like showing the "girls" to everyone when getting off that balance beam eh Scout? (her top was down around her waist when she was done with that challenge)

which is why I dont' understand why women don't wear more constricting tops on this show...seriously - a saggy bathingsuite for 39 days ain't gonna help you much! try a $4 sport bra from walmart!

Well hope it worked! I enjoyed the show. Not gory at all and I'm glad, especially that there was no sound either. Did the older chick (the one who had to rest ) have a knee replaced in the past? My DH thought he heard that. I was remarking onhow difficult the mud crawl was for her and he said she had a knee replaced, but is he confusing her with Chad??? Either way, she's a liability! I wasn't thrilled with the young lazy crowd again, but if that older lady can't keep up, she's gotta go!

Oh, and I would've booted Chris off. He doesn't strike me as a very sharp guy. We'll see.

It was Scout - the older lady who struggled that I referred to in my upper post. Was my DH hearing things? I already like Chad. He's a winner in my book. Not one complaint.

Yes, Scout did have a knee replacement. She mentioned it when they were trying to find their beach.

Did anyone else notice that the guys forgot their ball during the challenge? I wasn't just seeing things was I? So they would have had to gone back to get it.

Good show last night. The pig did not bother me. I am glad Chris didn't get voted off.

I thought that the guys had forgotten their ball. But wasn't real sure, because than Jeff (who by the way has cute dimples) said the guys are off with their ball. So I thought I guess they did take it.

I have it taped, I will have to watch it again.

I taped the show for my daughter so I went back to see if there was any reason why Brook was chosen to be voted off. There is a scene where Lea? and Chris are talking about voting off the younger men. JP was mentioned first because he is so strong but kept because he is the only one trying to make fire. Brook is then chosen because he is so cocky. So apparently they didn't like his attitude.

I was disappointed that the show was only one hour.

The part with the pig did not bother me. They really didn't show anything that we don't already see on tv. Not that I wanted to. You notice that they showed the women's reactions to the pig being killed but not the men?

It was interesting to see their reactions when the natives came out to meet their boat and then when they charged them with their spears. I know I would have been afraid.
