Too funny Pam!

DH has his own name for Eliza... "Bambi"!! LOL

Missed Lisa on Early Show but did see Jeff subbing for Regis and saw Kelly's "re-enactment" of Eliza during the pig challenge. She was SO accurate in her interpretation!!! LOL!!! :teeth:

I had forgotten about Lisa getting picked last in the tribe switch thing--sorry, but in my mind, I was having trouble keeping Lisa, LeeAnn, and Julie separate (should be easier now!). So, it really does make me think that there was more behind the scenes than we know. Interesting, though, that Scout still couldn't vote for her. Was she one of the harder working ones, or was that LeeAnn?

I didn't mean to imply that Ami had the only "store-bought" chest on the island--it almost seems like it's a requirement these days, that you have to have implants if you're under 35 and auditioning. I must be old as the hills, it would never cross my mind to have such an enhancement!

Not that this makes any difference and it is total gossip -- true, but gossip nonetheless:

Lisa spoke on the internet show with Hatch (and whoever that other guy is) that Scout many times mentioned being in a long-term 20 some-odd year relationship. Lisa said she was surprised to eventually find out that Scout's long-term partner is female.

As an additional piece of info (but not gossip) Lisa said how Scout was instrumental in getting the shelter built and was very knowledgeable about plants and outdoor life. Hatch had been asking why Scout wasn't voted out because she didn't seem to contribute much in the challenges. Lisa had nothing but high praise and admiration towards Scout.

Also, back to even more interesting gossip.... On the internet show Lisa revealed that Ami also has a relationship with a female.

Maybe this was already discussed on this thread, maybe not. I haven't read the entire thread. Just passing on the info for whatever it's worth.

I have to admit that my family is not getting into this group of contestants yet--they just don't seem to be developing the personality/relationships as in other seasons. Considering all the hours they have to edit down to, it must be a real boring group if this is the best they can come up with to show nationally.

did get a chuckle out of how Sarge wanted to be friends with the construction worker. Even sounded a bit like a crush to me. Now that would spice things up a bit.
:earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsgirl:

Tulirose, that info on Scout and Ami is on their official biography on the CBS site. Interesting that it has not come up on the show yet. Ivan caused our electricity to go out during the first episode and I assumed it had been mentioned then-I guess not!

I actually found it more interesting that it came out with Hatch than the fact that it hasn't come out with Scout and Ami. I don't recall the firsst season and how the subject was broached, but why should it be important whether or not a contestant is gay? It doesn't seem to be that discussing one's sexual preferences is something that comes out in normal conversation. Or am I being naive?

I have watched all the shows so far and have not heard any mention of either of them being gay. Not that it matters, but you know all kinds of things get brought up on the island that have no bearing on anything whatsoever.
Maybe something is going to happen later on that it will be brought to light.

With all this talk about "store bought things.........."

is it just me or do they all have abnormally white teeth???

I didn't notice it on previous Survivors - but it looks as if they all have a major bleaching job done before arriving in Vanuatu  :teeth:

Maybe it was done so they can see each other at night - prior to getting fire :teeth: :teeth:

My DH couldn't stand at looking at Lisa because he thinks she had some major plastic surgery !

I noticed the teeth, too. In some cases, I suppose, it's because the person's getting tanner, and their teeth look whiter by comparison. But Sarge... It's gotten to the point where all I can see is his teeth when he's on camera. They're very white, and they protrude, too. It's kind of freaky.

And I agree that this is about the least charismatic group that I can remember. The other problem is that the show's been on so long that there's no surprises any more. I remember the first time that they shuffled teams was way back in Africa. When it happened, it was a total shock and everybody talked about it the next day. I pretty much expected it this year, once it was clear that the older guys were picking off the younger ones.

And that's the other problem. Everyone comes to the island with a plan now. The five older guys had an unbreakable alliance before they ever made it to land. It's the right thing to do if you want to win, but it sure takes away from the suspense factor.

Then the show did the shuffling of teams to try to add the suspense back in. But somehow there were four men and two women on one team, and five women and two men on the other team. So they even screwed that up; so much for the suspense.

You know that cracks me up. I noticed the teeth this past week also. And forgot all about them until you mentioned it Yzma and Kronk.

I have never seen teeth so white.

I was disappointed that Lisa was voted off for a couple of reasons. One- she was on my fantasy team, two- having a younger person in my house who watches survivor things can get inappropriate and it was nice to see someone who didn't even swear and whose faith means so much to them because that's how I am. Like about swearing on the Bible, good for her. And finally because there were many other people who should have gone before her and she was one of the strongest on her tribe.

I really cannot stand Ami anymore. She is like fingernails going down a chalkboard to me how she jumps to conclusions and overreacts and thinks she has so much power. She never bugged me until last week with the whole showing the guys how to open the coconuts episode. It seems like she is power-driven and I can't stand her. Like when Lisa said that about "just in case..." she got scared and decided she needed to vote her off. (reminds me so much of Boston Rob ) And so she pulled together everyone just to prove how powerful she was and right before Lisa left she turned around to Ami and said "true to my word" I was so happy because she was proven wrong and got rid of a very capable tribe member and kept a very incapable tribe member, Eliza, for nothing.

*Just want to remind you Ami-lovers that this is just my opinion and I did read your opinions*

For those who missed the Early Show, here is a transcript and in it Lisa explains what she meant when she said the thing that caused Ami to think that maybe her power was being threatened:

Rene: Lisa Keiffer, good morning.
Lisa: Hi, Rene.
Rene: Okay, I can think of three people that I thought should have gone before you. Eliza, she blew the first challenge, Leann blew the 2nd challenge. And Rory, wasn't even part of the female alliance! How surprised were you... and are you that you're sitting here today?
Lisa: Oh, I'm very surprised, I might have known right before TC that something was up but I was shocked, I was totally shocked. I really thought it was probably going to be Eliza or Rory.
Rene: I want to talk to you about that exchange between you and Ami. What happened? Because she was on her way to go find manioc and you said to her, what?
Lisa: Right after we got back from the IC, I said "hey Ami, I want to go with you to get the manioc just in case". And I have a really bad habit of not finishing my sentences. What I meant was "just in case someone else had to go get the wood and the food. No one knew where it was except for Ami. So she took that sentence and turned it around and I think it was just an excuse to vote me off.
Rene: Are you sure that was what you were going to say? Because when I saw it last night, I thought you were going to say "just in case you get voted off"
Lisa: Well she thought that but I'm not that stupid. I would never have said that. Scout wanted to vote off Eliza and she [Ami] said she wanted to vote off you. I mean, I was shocked.
Rene: Scout said some really nice things about you last night. She said she treasured loyalty above all other things. You had a really good relationship with her?
Lisa: I had a great relationship with Scout. She and I were real tight and I knew that she really didn't want me off. She wanted Eliza off and I was just going along with it. Because, you know, it had to be someone.
Rene: Eliza, how is it that she's lasted this long? She blew the challenge last night, couldn't catch a pig and finally gave up. She said, "does anyone else want to try this?" And she talks all the time. Everybody's tired of that. Aren't they?
Lisa: Yeah. You know Eliza probably was not as much of a threat as I was. I think that Ami made a very smart move. I hate to say it but she probably thought I was a big threat. And when it got down to it, Eliza is probably not that big of a threat. I was much stronger in the physical challenges.
Rene: Eliza when she came back, she felt very badly about blowing the challenge. And you were very forgiving. How come? Is that just your nature?
Lisa: Kinda. It was kinda of a little bit of reverse psychology. She did feel bad. I told her that. But all of us were talking about it, you know. We wanted those steaks so bad. We were starvingggg. That was a bad loss for us, we could have used the protein. We were all pretty weak.
Rene: You're the mother of 6 children, right?
Lisa: Correct.
Rene: You have a strong faith. How did you think you would do in a game where you have cutthroat and backstabbing has been elevated to an art form.
Lisa: Well, I thought I did great. The Lord, he gave me the desire of my heart, putting me on Survivor. I thought I did great, I played the game just like any Christian would play.

Hi, the white teeth thing will become even more
obvious as the weeks go on - it's due to malnutrion.

Now, I can't explain why some of them showed up
with very white teeth - I'd assume the same as another
post'r, that they bleached them.

But, if you watch Survivor Australia (?) the one w/Roger
and Tina, their teeth became extremely white
as the show progressed.
Too much info, I know - but the white teeth phenomena
happens w/Third World children...
It's the continued lack of certain nutrients in their diet.

It's not a "healthy" white, if you know what I mean.

My mother taped last week's show and I finally got to watch it.

I thought it was great to see the look on Ami's face when Lisa turned and said what she did (I forgot what it was) before leaving tribal council.

I don't know why Ami would trust Eliza or Leahann. Didn't they both switch and vote with the older group or do I have them mixed up with someone else?

It went through my mind, briefly, when Leahann was having trouble with the immunity challenge and saying that she couldn't do it, that she was doing that more as a way to keep Eliza in the game than to really not be able to complete the challenge. Anyone else have this brief thought?

i too was wondering why she was having such a hard time! lopevi actually lapped yasur on that challenge  brother! c'mon....did leann have that much trouble or was she indeed, "playing the game"?

Has anyone seen the commercials for the official Survivor helicopter toy? I'd like to get it for a Christmas gift but can't find it. My son and I saw it advertised on TV during one of the first Survivor shows this season with a website but I wasn't quick enough to write it down. Help!

I believe that its a battery operated coffee machine.

Well, what did every one think of tonights show?

I think the coffee is going to Rory's head, he seems to think he has more power than he has. Sitting there talking about voting Ami off...I don't think so.

But it looks like next week we will be having the merger. If we do it will be intresting to see if the all men or all women aliances show back up. But then again it could just be another mixing of the tribes. But they are now down to 10 survivors.
