They were honest. The remarks might not have won him any fans, but we knew he was extremely competitive, and it would have been dishonest for him to say, "I had a good time, I was glad I was here, good luck to all," which is what we usually hear. For him to say that despite the money he made in baseball, he really wanted to win this game and show his extreme disappointment and anger at having to leave -- that was honest. And probably healthier than the "oh well, glad I got this far at least" remarks we usually hear.

What a brilliant move by Penner!!!!! First winning immunity! Then he totally led Jeff Kent along, even during Tribal Council. And then it was his vote for Abi that sent Jeff packing! He got him back for last week when he betrayed him. I just hope it doesnt hurt him when he gets back to camp if they figure out who went against the group!

And two idols being revealed...what a good tribal council!

I am slooooooow and I was wondering last night w-h-a-t???? Why did he vote for Abi. I am positive this is the way he wanted it to go down! Now it makes total sense.

I did like his closing remarks though.

I did, too. They made me laugh. He was obviously not playing for the money, but because he thought he could be the ultimate survivor. He was being honest, and it was refreshing.

I think Jeff Probst was correct in saying, "This may be one of the biggest missed opportunities in Survivor history." NOBODY thought to vote out either of the idol holders, knowing it would either: 1) get that person voted our, or 2) flush out the idol?

I'm also glad Penner won immunity. He's a good player, I hope he sticks around for a while. I would like to see him and Denise in the final 4, maybe with Skupin, Lisa, or Malcolm.

I wasn't sad to see Jeff go -- he's been a good player -- although I agree that several others should have gone before him. I did like his closing remarks though.

I was kind of suprised his gigantic head actually fit on my 60" tv screen.

I should have paid more attention to what he was saying. I was focusing more on watching who voted for who. I am not a multitasker. Cannot listen to a reporter and at the same time read the crawls underneath either.

I thought last night's episode was great. I loved that Penner won immunity, I loved the scrambling, and I especially loved tribal council.

I went and watched one of his deleted scenes thinking there had to be more to him than we've seen on the show. Nope, not as far as I can tell. I think your description is spot on.

I was actually impressed that she was willing to make a bold move. Her strategy of blindsiding Malcolm and going to the end with the mean nasties was solid, except for the fact that you have to trust the mean nasties. Due to Pete's uncanny ability to read people, and I hope he feels like an idiot now, it didn't work for her. But once Pete ratted her out there was no point in keeping her mouth shut, she was in damage control mode, I'm just not sure that will work for her either. I hope so. I like her.

My DS was sad to see Jeff go. I found him entertaining, but I think he deserved to go. His myopic focus on getting rid of Penner & Skupin caused him to make bonehead moves, and it was driving me crazy! Yes, we get how you feel about returning players, now move on and actually play the game!

Besides which, I find it a bit ironic that Jeff made such a big deal over returning players when he was there as a celebrity player. He's lucky the one gal who recognized him didn't out him before leaving.

You're welcome! I loved Penner in his original season and I have always said that there is something about him that's endearing to me. I thought it was the genuine nature of his interviews, much like Boston Rob. When Boston Rob did an interview segment, I really felt like he was talking to ME. Very personable and charming. Penner is the same way. But there was still something......... I couldn't put my finger on it. THEN, last night I was watching while folding the laundry, I turned my back and Penner spoke....... IT WAS HAWKEYE!!!! I KNEW IT!!!! I rushed to YouTube and pulled this up:
