Survivor Finale Tonight! (SPOILER)

Okay, who else thought Alicia was sucking on an extra tart lemon during the final tribal council? Annoying!

Looked like her mouth could use some Preparation H.

Btw, we're voting for Rupert! When they said there would be a huge twist, having us vote to give someone a million is what I guessed.

The voting that is on the page now is the same one that has been on there since the beginning of this season. I don't think that is the correct one.
I had already voted for Rupert a few weeks ago at that link before the announcement tonight. I think there will be a different link up that doesn't include Rob and Amber.
Just to be safe, I am waiting until tomorrow to vote. I wouldn't want to vote in the wrong poll.

They said the vote would include all the contestants, but I'm hoping what is up there now is the wrong one because the way it is worded, "who do you think deserved to win," makes people think the vote should be between R & A. Also they let us vote twice off the same computer, and I would hope that for giving away the money they would find a way to restrict it to one vote per person!

Does anyone else think the Amber/Rob marriage is a great way for them to legally split the winnings? Under regular circumstances Contestants aren't allowed to split or share winnings. Getting married would be a great way to get around that. Who says they didn't plan it that way from the beginning? Have a quickie marriage, create prenup to split the dough, get some publicity and then divorce when the $$$ stops rolling in. Just a thought.

::yes:: Pretty obvious.

I would hope not. Marriage, unlike Survivor, is not a game. I would hope that they really do feel for each other and the marriage is for real. I won't be surprised if it isn't, but I'm really hoping it is.

Speaking of Colby's razor commercials, I haven't seen the Adelphia cable commercial that features Amber in quite some time. When my wife recognized that it was her in the commercial (for high definition cable service), I thought to myself "She must not have gone very far in Survivor." Boy was I fooled.

And why didn't Colby shave for the reunion show?

I dunno if this has been covered yet - but about the Amber/Rob engagement.

I dunno about you ladies - but I cried like a school girl when my DH proposed to me...anyone think they were already engaged? and did it on the air just for 'shock' value?

or do you think it was genuine?

Both Rob and Amber pleaded for the $$, so they must be included in the vote.

I really liked Jenna's (3rd place Jenna) plead. That was classy.

I voted for Rupert because I can't think of anyone else there who really deserves it. Big Tom lost any respect I had for him when he acted like a school kid at tribal council.

Didn't these people know how "hard" it would get? They were "AllStars", you know! Every season seems to be coming down to poor losers on the Jury... not appreciating the skill of the game. Is it a surprise that people backstab? I don't think so. If you can't handle the heat, get out of the kitchen, folks!

Go Rupert! :bounce:

I knew Dh and I were going to get married so when he proposed I wasn't shocked but I was very happy. I didn't cry but maybe I would have if it had been unsuspected. She did state that they had talked about it so maybe that was the reason for her response.

I hope it's all genuine but...time will tell, I suppose. :confused3

Kristen :earsgirl:

OMG.. is there a bigger bunch of whiny babies than on that stage and in that jury last night? Lex, Kathy, Alicia... Tom. What the heck do they think the game is about - OUTWIT - how else do you outwit someone other than to fool them or mislead them?

Do they think that when you get a group of players together that have already played the game and know the score that everyone is going to sit around the campfire singing cumbaya and not analyzing or strategizing how to get the strongest players out?

Rich was the voice of reason last night. You play a game to win. You check your friendship at the door. It's a game, not a popularity contest. I think Lex would get pissed even if he lost at Monopoly  That group (Lex, Kathy, Alicia, Tom) had way too high of an opinion of themselves.

I started out liking Lex, Kathy and Tom (never did like Alicia because of her attitude) but I lost all respect for them last night - except Kathy, who seemed to "get" the game at the end and voted for the person that played it the best.

Say what you like about Rob - but he played the game the best out of the group. His mind was always on the prize. He should have won because Amber really did ride his coattails.

Now, my VOTE for the million is going to RUPERT all the way! I love the way his face just lights up when the crowd cheers for him. It's like watching that little boy that got picked on in school finally get his day in the sun. Go RUPERT!

I told DH the same thing - they'll stay married as long as the $$ lasts, and then it's splitsville. Sad.

Did you get a look at Sue last night??? I kept asking "who is that in the pink in the top row? That can't be Sue!" and sure enough, it was. Good for her!! Maybe that's the way the show took care of her for all the mental anguish she suffered.

I already checked out the voting on the cbs website - it let me vote more than once from the same computer. You'd think with $1M on the line, they'd make you submit your e-mail address or something to weed out multiple votes????? Oh well---GO RUPERT!!

Am I just weird or does anyone else kinda gag when the final 2 are asked what they will do with the money if they win? It sounds so "Miss America" to answer that they are going to donate money to charity, etc. Maybe they really are. I hope so. I'd say "I'll be at the Dolphin till the money runs out!" ;)

I didn't like Rich while the game was on but I did like his comments at the reunion show.

Divamomto3, I have the show recorded. I missed a few parts so I want to watch it again but I can mail it to you after that if you still need it. PM me if you are interested!

They usually announce where the next Survivor will be held and when it will start at the end. Wonder why they didn't do that this time.

And why did Amber give Shii-Ann the vehicle saying hers was the deciding vote to make her win? All the votes for her count equally and I can't see why one has more value than another.

jeff asked the jury who voted for Amber
4 people raised their hands
he then asked them if Rob had taken Jenna instead of Amber to the final 2 - would their vote change.

Everyone said they would have voted for Jenna (over Rob) ecxept Shii-Ann...she would have flipped her vote to Rob, thereby giving him the $1mill.

so she was the 'swing'

That question made me  too, Liz. I would have said I was going to Disney World  !

Rob M. is going to be on Live with Regis and Kelly in a few minutes. :scratchin Wonder what he'll have to say.

Jeff Probst did say he was going to annouce the next show, but with being live, I think the show ran out of time and it didn't get said.

I also logged on this morning before work and voted for Rupert..just voted for him again from my work computer...he just seems like a genuine, likable guy who puts on no airs and I think with him, you know where you stand. GO RUPERT!!

Jeff said they're going to announce the new Survivor on Thursday when they announce the winner of the million.

Was it just me, or did Amber not seem as "sweet" anymore? I know the whole time she was on the island it was an act, but she seemed so witchy last night--almost like a completely different person!!

I was VERY disappointed in the outcome! I also went online and voted for Rupert! What a stand-up guy! He is my absolute favorite, and I think he deserves to win the million!!

And, the whole "engagement" thing was so predictable! I told my husband that would happen before the show even started and BAM!--too bad I can't pick the numbers for the lottery! HA!

Epcotfan, YES!! I agree. I too think that the whole marriage thing is a huge scam, just to split the $$$$$. I think they have been plotting this for a long time. Don't like either one of them. I also hope that Rupert wins the other million, I voted for him.

I thought Jeff asked if "anyone would have changed their vote" if Rob had taken Jenna to the final two instead of Amber? Which of course ShiAnn raised her hand. I took this to mean that the other 3 who had voted for Amber believed they would have voted for Jenna as well. Plus those that voted for Rob would have done so either way. But....can they honestly say that when Jenna didn't have a chance to voice her thoughts and answer their questions? Obviously things can change on that last night and who knows which one would have been voted for. It seemed as though Kathy wasn't going to vote for Rob at first but changed her mind. So nobody can say for certain who would have won had it been Jenna instead.
