SURVIVOR fans! The game is on! What do you think?(Remember our west coast friends)

Survivor comes on here 7-8:00 Mtn. time which is 9-10 Eastern. I think once you've watched the show post away your thoughts and feelings. I never read this thread till after I've watched the show unless I want to risk knowing too much! Don't hold back! Let's have FUN!!!

I liked Joanna last week too. Now I think she's really strange! And the idol thing, I'm no scripture expert but aren't you supposed to not "worship" other idols? I don't think anyone worships that ugly thing. I would be worried she would try to throw a challenge just to not bring that idol back to camp. If she makes it to individual immunities what's going to happen if they try to hang the immunity necklace around her neck? I hope it has big idol heads all over it!!!!

The woman are really a disgrace with their disorganization. I loved Janet in her final comments when she said if you want to have a midlife crises change your hairstyle! That granola bar thing so reminds me of S. Africa and the sneaking food issue. Does anyone else think the girls should have eaten the granola bar instead of putting it in the fire?

Oh yeah, and I still don't like that swimsuit model anymore than last week. Shawna (I think that's her name) seems nice and I still like Christy.

Aren't the gals really acting like gals though:rolleyes: put too many of us together at one time and we want to pick at each other...LOL;) seriously, they need to get it together or they are looking at troubles, just winning challanges is not going to keep them all in the game.

I think it all went as it should last night and the right one was voted out. I can't say I find any of the people this show, guys/gals that endearing...maybe that will change.

These women, with their disorganization, lack of shelter and of support for each other better shape up or I'm going to start rooting for the men.

Joanne is looney - I'd vote her off quick or else never go to sleep at night! What was with that comment that the rain came because they had brought the idol into their camp? She does realize it's called a "rain forest" for a reason.

And, last gripe, can Jenna, the so-called swimsuit model, ever smile or is she just in a perpetual bad mood?

I kind of felt sorry for Janet last night. If she didn't bring the granola bar, then she was probably voted out unfairly.

I agree with all of you about Joanna. I liked her the first week, but she was acting like a loon last night. I can't stand the whole "talk to the hand" stuff--it drives me nuts.

I felt sorry for Christy as well. The others certainly aren't making her feel accepted. I was wondering how she was able to understand what was going on during tribal council. It was pretty dark in there. Maybe they have an interpreter there for that. It was the first time I can remember that there were votes for so many different people. It doesn't appear that there are any alliances as yet. Someone needs to step forward and become a leader of sorts, or that shelter will never be built. I think everyone is afraid to take a leadership role because they are traditionally voted off first.

My husband thought the previews for next week look VERRRRY interesting, if you know what I mean.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the previews. Did not like that at all!!!! Is Survivor turning into Playboy? I watch this with my teenager DD & DS and I don't want them seeing that! Am I going to have to record it and edit before they can watch? Geez.

First of all Janet looked waaaaayyyyy different! Harry Smith said he wouldn't have recognized her.

She adamantly denies bringing the granola bar. She is a huge Survivor fan and would never cheat by bringing that. He asked why they didn't just eat it and she said they were probably all afraid if someone suggested that they would immediately be accused as being the one who brought it.

She said they didn't lay around all the time and the show gave a false impression that they did.

She was close to Christy and they had a bond. The other tribemates didn't give Christy a chance but it wasn't mean spirited, they were just so busy trying to survive that they didn't have time to develop a relationship with her.

A caller asked why she didn't step in when Christy and Joanna were having their arguement. She said they are both strong personalities and she didn't want to get involved, but she likes both of them. Christy and Joanna just rubbed each other the wrong way.

Everyone was afraid of being the leader and making themselves the target.

She was really surprised she was the oldest person on the show this time.

That's about it!

JoAnn was a favorite of mine until last night. I can see getting mad that someone thinks your ideas are stupid, but she was way over the line. I can't believe she thought she was justified in her behavior towards Christy. I also wondered if she would try to throw immunity since she has such issues with the "idol" being in their camp.

The whole Christy work thing looked like a pretty typical communication problem to me. Someone is going to have to step forward and help her be part of the group, or misunderstandings are going to abound. It looked like the kind of thing I might get involved in if I had bad PMS!

My thoughts about the granola bar were: maybe a family member smuggled it into the teddy bear (or whatever luxury item someone else brought)...or...maybe someone from the show's crew tossed it in there to create some drama. I was wondering if we were going to see the men discover a granola bar, too, and waiting to see if this was a test they had to pass by not eating it or something. Or...maybe not! :)

Joanna just flipped out. I found it funny that she said something to the effect of someone jumping in on her conversation, when she was the one who jumped in on Christy and Janet. Her whole issue with the idol was a bit over the top, too. That group can expect a sermon every night they win that thing.

Christy just lost her one and only ally - if that group doesn't change their stance, and if she doesn't learn to hide her exasperation with people a bit better, I have a feeling she's the next one to go.

I actually think Christy might have helped herself at tribal council when she got out her frustrations. No doubt her frustration at being an outsider and excluded from things has contributed to her attitude and her anger at the lack of shelter.

The women's tribe needs to get their act together! They should have divided labor on day one or day two -- 3-4 people work on fire and water, the other 4-5 work on the shelter. Yes, all three are important, but shelter is the biggest and probably the most time consuming.

i'm suprised they voted out janet. i thought for sure joanna was going to be the one gone. if janet got voted out for the granola bar that was really stupid. i think cristy was justified in being mad about not having shelter. i wouldn't want to be stuck out in the rain when a shelter should have been built days ago.

i joined Disney 5 too. :D now i'm in 2 tribes. :p

I just joined Disney 5 team! Now I am in two leagues! LOL

:)

I am really disgusted with the women, too. Just where are they getting the water from that it takes 8 of them all day to do it. I think I could find wood, tend a fire and keep water boiled all day by MYSELF if that was all I had to do. I told DD last night that if they voted Christy off I was going to start rooting for the men.

Joanna is definitely a nut case.

Thanks for the morning show re-cap, Liz!!

Off to check out how I did on the Fantasy League! I think we ought to make this an intra-mural competition!! And let's add our tribes to our sigs!

This would be kind of interesting if........

I thought maybe a member of the crew snuck the granola bar in to see what their reation would be......then sneak one in to the men's camp to see if they also would burn it. If one group burned it and one group ate it, then the group that burned it should get something special

I totally agree with the above. Here in Italy we don't get to watch Survivor until Friday night, so I avoid this thread until after I watch. I hope people do not stop limiting what they say here, I look forward to reading it all.

The women really need to get their act together or they will be in trouble.

:bounce::wave::bounce:

Okay, girls... come *on*... you're a bad example of us women  Get it together with that camp already!

And Joanna... good grief. What are you doing on a reality show where you KNOW there is an Immunity Idol if you're not willing to win it and think it is wrong? And then you get mad because people consider your thoughts stupid? No, not stupid that she doesn't like the idol IMHO, stupid that she's on the show if she doesn't like the idol  And come *on*... rain in a rain forest is because you're "worshiping" an idol?? Knocking her off my list of favorites...

Poor Christy. I hope she makes more friends *somewhere* in the group.

I didn't really feel that Janet was voted off because of the granola bar, I thought it was more because of how ill she'd been the first couple of days and she kept saying she wasn't sure if she could do it and she didn't expect it to be so hard physically and she looked weak. She looked like she was ready to go home.

Does anyone else feel that they put the "teamwork" challenge that involved hearing in that position *specifically* so that the girl's team would be in a position to sit Christy out?

Thanks Liz and others. I really was too intimidated to write anything last night and it took away somewhat from my enjoyment of the show. (See, I had also gotten jokingly scolded for posting about Joe Millionaire on my regular cruise thread this week too before someone in Idaho had seen show and although she was just kinda joking I felt really bad about it and that's another reason why I went into extreme paranoia-mode. I'll get over this by next week!)

Anyway, aren't those ladies just too much!! Joanna wouldn't even shut up about that idol when she was told how people want to sleep.

I've said this before regarding other Survivor series: I really do not believe that Burnett would allow any type of "plants" or setups (such as the granola bar). I believe putting a bunch of strangers from all walks of life into these foreign environments initiates enough drama all by themselves. I may be naive but I would be terribly dissappointed if I found out I was wrong in my belief.

It was kinda silly, IMO, to burn the granola bar. An eighth of a piece of it wouldn't have amounted to much but it would have been better than nothing. Oh well, I suppose it was therapeutic burning it.

I don't think Janet got voted off because of the granola bar, however. I think she got voted off because everyone knew she really didn't want to be there anymore and figured her to be more of a handicap than Christy. Joanna even said as much when she voted for Christy - she said something to the effect that "even though we need physical strength, I don't like your attitude". So, I think several of them talked and decided to vote off the weakest member of the tribe.

Fantasy League!!! I am kinda in the middle with a score of 63. I belong to four tribes: The public one, one with my family and two DIS tribes (The-DIS-Tribe and Disney 3).

Okay, I think I'm feeling better now. :D

I'm a little bummed, I thought men vs. women would be fun but after watching the first 2 shows those women have got alot of PMS going.... I never saw such b*****yness . the men are full of themselves, so I think this is going to be a very long season. I hope jeff probst survives!!!!!
;)

LOL!! That imagery is too funny!! :teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

I don't know how many of you noticed, but in episode one, when the women won immunity, they were all dancing around and hugging, and touching and kissing the idol. All except Joanna. She hung back with a look on her face that I can only describe as a cross between scared and disgusted. It was a gut feeling, but I knew there would be trouble over the idol from the way she looked at it. I had her in my fantasy tribe in week one, but dropped her the next day due to that look on her face. I'm interested in seeing what happens when they win again.

I watched parts of the show again today when it was quiet because some parts were hard to understand what they were saying. Like you said, Tulirose, Joanna said she was going to praise God, or something like that, all night long. When they asked if she would please do it quietly so they could sleep she said "NO!" That's real nice!!!
