Were you less than thrilled with the four-team twist on Survivor (CBS, tonight, 8 ET/PT)? Well, you can stop fussing because tonight the show twists again, as the players "schoolyard-pick" their way into two tribes. It's a good idea and a solid Survivor episode, energized by an interesting new use of exile island and a novel approach to tribal council strategizing. Odds are some of the folks who think they're running the show won't be for long. But then, that's always been one of the show's safer bets.

Well what the heck was the POINT of last week then? sheesh!

Well. I figured it was going to happen sooner rather than later because the tribes were just too small and too divided. They'll get alot more action with bigger tribes.
I'm really interested in how they'll "use" exile island. It seemed from the previews that the cold-turkey cigarette quitter and Cerie were on it together this week......but who knows? I only think I gathered that from the preview. Can't wait for tonight! :teeth:

About the ciggy smoker...he's gonna have issues.
I mean - hello - you had NOTICE that you were goign to be going on survivor...right? wouldn't you have attempted to cut down on your own before going to the island?

Yeah...exile island is an interesting idea this year...but i bet it will fizzle like that "hidden idol" last season.

but - even though the format is getting 'stale'...they are still getting the viewers I guess

I don't mind what they're doing tonight.

They make people comfortable in their spots and give them time to create alliances and then 3 days later shake that all up. I like that. It keeps the castaways on their feet and makes them realize they can't get too comfrotable.

Exactly. Alliances are useful strategy. The producers messing up that strategy is what keeps the show interesting.
