Survivor - Exile Island is getting hot!

I do believe that Terry is also selfish. Having the hidden immunity and never once giving it to his tribe mates to save them while he had the immunity necklace. Does he have to give it to the other members, no but it is a bit selfish considering how cocky he is about his ability to win.

Actually, Terry told Danielle he'd give her the hidden immunity idol if she would break free of Casaya several episodes back. Sure, Terry was selfishly trying to build something of an alliance. But he definitely offered to give it up. But Danielle didn't do it and Terry was under no obligation to carry through on his offer.

Terry can't give up the hidden immunity idol before a vote. It can only be brought out after a vote has been counted. Since "all votes are final", it's useless to give away the hidden immunity idol then. And how can you know who to give it to, when every single person in the game is playing against you? Terry hasn't been involved in any of the strategy of who to vote for in many episodes now. He simply has no one but himself to strategize with.

Terry wasn't being selfish not giving the idol away. That and winning all the challenges was the only way he could make it past the top 8 or so. There's nothing selfish about holding on to the immunity idol for later as insurance against losing an immunity challenge. If he hadn't done that, Terry would have been voted off last night with no need for a tiebreaker.

I am hoping that "Capt. America" is gone early on this coming Sunday! I agree that he does great at the challenges (athletic ones), but I think that he lacks the social skills necessary to win the game.

And as I stated before, he DID offer it to Danielle, if she would break from Casaya and form an alliance to get to the final 4, several episodes back. She chose not to jump on this generous offer. I think she made a strategic mistake in not taking the offer.

I'm not sure if it was a smart move or a bad move on Terry's part not to give the idol to Danielle last night. Yeah, I know he needed it to cover his own butt but (two buts in a row!) did C and A vote for D because they knew Terry had the idol? Would it have been that risky to give it to Danielle? Of course, if they had done that stupid rock tie breaker, Terry could have lost a tie.

There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that giving away the hidden idol would have resulted in Terry being voted out last night. It would have been unanimous. A) Terry would have been seen as a bigger "sympathy" threat for the final 2 because he was giving away a certain trip to the final 3 and B) He's still the biggest physical threat in the game for that last immunity challenge to whittle down to the final 2.

Remember, if the hidden idol is going to be given away, it has to be done like Terry tried to several episodes back in trying to lure Danielle to an alliance with him. You can't give it away at tribal council before the vote or after it.

There was also no guarantee that Danielle wouldn't have gone to Aras and Cirie and told them that she had the immunity idol and they could all three vote Terry out.

I think that if Terry would have given that idol to Danielle before the vote, she would have told the other two as they were walking into Tribal Council and they would have all 3 voted Terry out.

It was just too much of a risk. Danielle had already lied to Terry twice about how she was voting....she hasn't exactly proven herself to be a reliable alliance.

ITA. I was dumbfounded when she turned down the hidden idol offer from Terry to stick with Shane and Aras. I would have taken the idol and run with it, and voted for whomever it takes to secure it.

Yes, Danielle is not only not a reliable person to ally with, she's just not a very smart strategic thinker turning down guaranteed immunity for at least one tribal council.

She would have turned on Terry in a heartbeat, like she has in the past.

I read on the Survivor thread that someone heard Shane on the radio and he basically said Cirie and Terry were the final two. I just don't get how Shane legally could say that befor it airs.

Oh, how I hope that is true. At least then, Terry has a shot at the $1mm!

I just hope Courtney and Shane will be smart enough to remember what Cirie had done to them and vote for Terry!

Totally agree. Remember Danielle does not know how to strategize. She is very confused. And as always, she would have crossed Terry the same way she crossed, Shane, Courtney, Cirie, Bruce, Terry, Austin - Danielle is true to Danielle, only, unfortunately, she can't see it.

If Terry gave Danielle the immunity idol, it would have gone down as the stupidest thing in Survivor history - and Terry's not dumb.

If he didn't give it to his friends, why would he give it to an enemy?

As annoying as both Courney and Shane were, they definitely provided some amusement. Courtney was simply too annoying to stay, and provided too little amusement to make up for it. Shane, though, was an original. The Blackberry au naturel thing cracked me up. That was good for a good laugh. Also, Shane cracked me up with that posture of his where he'd let that belly of his hang out, so it was protruding way beyond any other part of his body. You have all these emaciated, but very in-shape guys with their 6-pack abs, and then Shane with the skinny limbs and big gut. Too funny. The bit with the chafing, though, was hilarious above all else.

But I don't know if Shane and Courtney will remember anything beyond what they had to eat for dinner the night of the big vote. Strategically, they're about on the same level as Danielle, IMHO.

Did anyone notice on the commercials last night? I say this without reading through all the other posts! In the commercials, on that big green/red wall thing, they showed Terry and Aras. But, they also showed a clip of Danielle... but it looked like it was from the past "digging in the sand at the place the ropes cross" reward challenge from last night (5/11). I don't know if it's a slip up and Danielee is in or a diversion and Cirie is in.

My take: Courtney hates Danielle. It would be very wise for Terry (who I would like to see win. We live in Annapolis and DH went to the Naval Academy, too, so... ) to take her to the final two. I just cannot see Courtney voting for her. That's 4 for Terry.

I think Shane could be a bit of a toss up at this point, too. Becuase Aras, Cirie, and Danielle, all voted him off, he might be a lot more willing to swing a vote towards Terry than for one of them. He was totally blind-sided. But, with Shane being as loco as he is, he still may hold out and see that they were just playing the game... and well.

Taking Cirie to the Final two is not a good move IMO. I think she'd have it.

Lastly, there was a news article about an online betting ring that was taking about $100 bets on the final outcome. There was a huge influx of bets for Danielle. They actually shut the whole thing down because they thought something was up. At this point though, having been a part of the blind-sided votes for Shane and Courtney, I don't think she'll be seeing the money.

OF COURSE the finale and money has to opposite the Grey's Anatomy part 1 finale on Sunday. Argh.

Sorry forgot to say - the poster also said that Shane said he would vote for Terry- that he deserved it. Now again I don't see how Shane can legally say these things before the finale.

I think you're on the right track. We taped Survivor last night and watched the previews for Sunday at least 4 times (in slow motion). It did show Terry and Aras on a wall. The clip of Danielle was from last night's puzzle challenge. The clip of Cirie was of her sliding down a wall. Everything in the background, including the wall, was greyed out, with Cirie being the only thing in color (she had on a yellow top). I don't recall any previous challenge involving climbing up or sliding down a wall, does anybody? I thought it interesting that the wall was greyed out in the clip, leading me to believe that it was the same wall with Terry and Aras, but they didn't want it to be that obvious. My guess is its Terry, Aras and Cirie.

Terry, selfish? Please.... :rolleyes1

How could you penetrate the Evil 6 of Casaya? They bite themselves every chance they get (remember Cirie: I hope he breaks him arm!)

Terry tried to talk to Casaya, tried to reason, tried to negotiate - but these people are just dense.

If Danielle had a 1/2 of brain, she would have "shaken" things up a bit when she had the chance. But she got scared and ran towards Cirie. Now, both Aras and Danielle are fighting for Cirie's good grace(????). Urgh, what a bunch of knucklehead...

Don't forget the coming attraction where Cirie's fire is higher and more flamey :furious: than Danielle's. I think that's a dead giveaway that Cirie made it.

Athletically speaking, Danielle deserved to win. Intelligently speaking, I have no clue how either of them got on the show  . Then again, it is a game show.....  :clown:

Still, I wouldn't put all stock in the previews. They've manipulated those in the past to make things appear different than the actual outcome.

Speaking of bogus footage, has anyone else noticed how absolutely cheesy that picture of Probst is where he's in the water, and only his upper chest and head are out of the water, and he's looking at the camera in a real serious manner? They show it every week and it never fails to get me laughing. I think Probst is a good host for the show and I like him, overall, but sometimes he does some things like that picture that are just way over the top, and come across as silly.

I like Jeff too. However, he is portrayed as quite a "self absorbed" individual. The only thing that's missing is the "AAAAAAAAAAAAhhhhh" just before he arrives on the scene!

I don't like Cirie or Danielle. I would like to see Terry win, but Aras wouldn't be bad either.

I could never vote for someone like Aras - he's way too immature and thinks he knows everything. He hasn't fully evolved yet.
