Survivor All Star OFFICIAL THREAD!

Richard Hatch - just on The Early Show

Has a new tattoo on his arm - looking like it is ready to bite the spot that real shark did in the show. Hatch says shark was on there for half an hour.

Sue incident - He "doesn't know" what happened. For some reason, he says, Sue stopped and came back towards him. They showed part of it, without sound. She was going to go one way and backed up and waited on a post for Rich to come her way and Kathy came from another direction causing a pileup. I do remember last night that at some point in this scene she said something to the effect that she has been waiting for this. They cut the scene before Hatch got too close to them.

Hatch also says he initially started the challenge dressed. His team mates encouraged him to strip saying that it would distract the other team so after he fell in the water, he did strip.

Strategy initially in first show was to run around naked because 1) It was 110 degrees and so much more comfortable and 2) he didn't think they would film him like that and so he would get much more private air time, which had happened. This time around, his strategy was not to be too different from the Hatch they all know and love otherwise people would wonder what he was up to. That is why, he says, he played arrogant and provider. It bothered him abit that interviewer suggested that he also played lazy.

Hatch went to tribal council that night "knowing" that Ethan was going.

Hatch said this time around was much harder. Three weeks seemed like six. It was suggested that perhaps he wasn't as "hungry" for the money this time and he agreed that it might be possible because he said to himself during show that he endured this and worked thru it first time around but perhaps he did not have that "hunger" enough to remain focused.

Hatch also really looked pretty darn good (can't believe I said that) but he had a radiance and glow about him. When interviewer stated how Hatch looks so happy, he responded something to the effect that life is good and then he DID say, I am in love. Interviewer did not pursue this topic and segment ended.

No telephone call-ins.

I just re-watched the clip from the cbs site. I know Richard did something to Sue, but it is still unclear what it was. I paid close attention to Sue as she entered the beams. Her comment was, as Richard was approaching from the other side (she hadn't yet stepped onto the beam he was on) "I am waiting for this one. I have to take my time". I think she was referring to the beam, not wanting to confront Richard. The beams were different widths....this one beam was much wider. I am certain that next week, she will make it clear exactly what he did! :earseek:

I'll miss Richard Hatch for the comic relief. I believe Lex or Colby stated from the beginning that they would like to see him gone so its just been a matter of time. We shall see if the girls made the right decision in voting him off.

The only thing that I can think of that last night's viewer warning was about was the exchange between Richard and Sue. I really thought that it might be someone getting seriously hurt in that challenge but since no one was, it must have been that. I agree with a previous poster that they are probably taking no chances after the Super Bowl incident.

I think that Richard and Sue have been bantering with each other the whole time and we just haven't seen all of it, just the eel bones comment last week. Maybe that's the animosity still between players that Rob C. spoke of last week in his Early Show interview.

It will be interesting to see the other tribes reaction when they see that Richard is gone.

I think Rich did more than just 'pass by' Sue on the platform. I think there was some definite, intentional rubbing and prodding going on (some of this comments were 'you want some of that' or something like that and then Jeff told him to quit because nobody's interested in that kind of stuff). I think she was waiting on the beam, too, not Rich. I'm not a fan of Sue, but what Rich did was GROSS and I would be completely outraged by it, too.

However, what I'm more interested in is what Colby was saying to Shii Ann in the previews for next week. I had to rewind 4 times and I STILL couldn't understand what he was saying. I know he said something like he could never respect her because she couldn't make her own decisions (???). Did anyone catch that?

Yes, I caught that as well.....wasn't something along the lines of her being lazy as well??? She really doesn't seem to be pulling her load. How in the world did she make the 'cut'?!

Bamboozled! Love that word. Here's to more bamboozooling.

Been reading a lot about the confrontation between Hatch and Hawk but what about Big Tom and Alicia. A drunken Big Tom telling her it was a nice rack. Oops, he said, he meant to say raft. Lots of innuendos with him too.

I watched the Early Show this morning also, this is what I didn't understand

Hatch went to tribal council that night "knowing" that Ethan was going.

Then why did he vote for Colby?

That's Tom for you. A dirty old redneck. He was like that in Africa too. He is a funny drunk though.

It's funny, I wanted Hatch gone, but now that he's gone, I'm sort of sorry about it. His Machiavellan ways were great entertainment.

Liz already said it, but she's right. Rupert just hasn't had his type of challenge yet. Last night's challenge entailed a lot of balance and Rupert isn't exactly Mary Lou Retton. I predict he will get his day ion the sun.

If you ask me, Sue is the next to go. Just from the previews and and the fact that she really is rubbing a number of people the wrong way.

Okay, who is bzelf on the Reality Planet contest? I'm gunning for you, mate :)

I had been thinking about the raft that Rupert built. He had built it with the intention of having FOUR people paddling...one on each corner. With the race starting with only 2, it definitely had them at a disadvantage. He really put thought and effort into the structure, unlike Richards team where they simply tied the bundled of bamboo together.

Also, if you get the chance, check out Jerri's comments on the website when she was talking about Saboga and the race....it ALMOST sounds like she didn't put 100% of herself into it. She knew going into the race that the losing tribe would be dissolved and it really sounds like she wanted to get out of the tribe and join one of the other 2.

Thanks for this thread! I LOVE Survivor! We purposely make no plans for Thursday nights.... And, as much as I LOVE Survivor is exactly how much I HATED Hatch! His arrogance, nudity, rude comments, he gives me the creepies! And his little performance with Sue last night.... YUCK! I was thinking he took off his shorts/skirt - so that he would actually be avoided over the waterpit - who would want to tackle that???? Anyway.... I was SO HAPPY that he was voted off - so much so that I told my husband I was so excited that I might actually want to have s*x - well, maybe not that excited!

Can't wait for the rest of the season and reading your takes on the show!

Funny Moment of last night -

Alicia - "that raft is going to win us reward"
Tom - Yeah, it's definitely a nice "rack" - uhh, I mean "raft"....

Tom is too cute!

I actually am glad Saboga lost and was dissolved and partially wonder if it was somewhat deliberate. The losing tribe would lose their shelter. Saboga *knew* from the shelter-building contest that both the other team's shelters were better than theirs, so from that standpoint it would make sense to break up in favor of going to a place with better shelter.

Tom. What can I say. I hated him in Africa, but am actually laughing at him this time. I don't they're showing quite so much of the "Dirty old redneck" as they did in Africa. Still don't like him that much, but I can stand him this time.

I'm also surprised with how much I'm liking Boston Rob. I *hated* him the previous show, but this time he's actually rather cool to watch. Anyone else think he's done wrestling in school or something? ;)

And I laughed so hard when Kathy confused whoever she was going against (I forget who it was :/ ) by just dropping down to sit. LOL!

That was against Boston Rob and it was almost a brilliant strategy, until Rob got down to her level :)

Got to give him credit, Rob is playing a great game. And I don't mind him so much this time, since they are showing him making all those "Godfather" references.

I don't know, I'm going to sort of miss old Rich (although NOT the nudity). If you notice, he almost never whined or complained like so many others and usually had somewhat of a smile (or smirk) on his face as he was so bemused by everyone trying to strategize. And, it's going to take a lot to top his shark incident. No screaming or yelling, just calmly wading in water for 30 minutes and then beating the thing to death on a rock AND then serving him for dinner. That was classic Hatch!

The shark incident was the BEST!

I think Rob may be on his way to a win if he can keep things together.

If you're interested, the video preview for Thurs. show is up on cbs.com . They even are not only having a "This material may not be appropriate for younger viewers" message ON the screen, the announcer is verbally warning viewers as well!! :earseek: It's odd though, in one clip, Sue is saving it was no big deal, then the next, she is flipping out on Jeff!! Her tribe members look angry and disgusted as she is screaming, but it's hard to tell if the looks are meant for Richards actions or Sue's behavior!!

Alicia - "that raft is going to win us reward"
Tom - Yeah, it's definitely a nice "rack" - uhh, I mean "raft"....

then he said...

it's the besy built thing since Alicia...:earseek:

I got to meet Rudy! He was appearing at a Home & Patio show here. While I was standing in line I thought of a lot of smart and witty things to say, but by the time I got to him I was like  . Oh well, I managed to thank him for his military service and he seemed to be really grateful for that. I guess everyone talked about Survivor- it must have been nice to talk about himself for once. :D

I was kind of surprized that they let Rich get naked for that challenge. I thought Jeff would have put a stop to it because who would try to fight him like that?

I just rewatched the coming attractions for next week. It looks like there are some tears by some of the women. I wonder if Jeff tells them that Jenna's mother passed away?
