I love watching the jury. I am surprised that Emily has grown on me. She owned her behaviors and acknowledged that she needed to make changes, unlike Bruce. I also think she will be a fair juror and won't hold grudges. Some of the others still seem angry and might hold a grudge. I am glad Austin held onto his advantage/idol.

I think Julie blew it last night by not voting out Austin. She could’ve just cost herself the million dollars. That would have been a huge move for her resume and would’ve left Dee blowing in the wind. Not a fan of Dee at all.

Emily really turned likeable for me after the first couple of episodes and I think Jake is great since I’m from the Boston area. I hope he goes to the end.

Sikura‘s story was really moving. What an inspiration she is!!

I’m ticked because it has now gone to 90 minutes and we still don’t have a separate reward challenge and immunity challenge.
I think it’s the 90 minute runtime that has me enjoying it less. Here and on the Amazing Race, it’s not more exciting content. It just seems like everything is drug out. I wonder if it was an actors/writers strike decision? They stretch these two out and that’s one less hour to fill.

I’m loving the blindsides, though.

After a ROUGH start to the season with one tribe that was mostly awful 👀👀 I’m really liking some of these final folks! Was really rooting for Emily.

My mom & dad are in a pool. Mom has Jake and Dad has Mama J. We didn’t have high hopes at first for either of them to win the pool but they’ve both gone further than we expected.

This was another show I stopped watching but have been back on for a little while after season 3 winner Ethan Zohn and I got to chat on FaceTime and he told me to start watching again.

Austin Austin Austin....romance in Survivor normally doesn't work out and you shouldn't bank on it and potentially mess up your game and that of others for it. Rob was is and will always be of a way different caliber player so you can't try to be like him.

Austin should have kept his mouth shut about Julie, yes it would have put a dent in his alliance with Dee but it was clear that Dee wasn't loyal only to Austin. He got blinders on here.

On the other hand I'm confused why Austin, Drew and Dee didn't just pick Emily once they found out Julie knew they were going for her? It would have flushed out the idol from Julie (which I though Austin said had to be played by final 5 or was I mishearing?) because it was true that she was at risk. That would have meant Julie still voting Emily (I would have assumed so) Emily voting for Julie and Dee, Drew and Austin voting for Emily. Emily might have been upset but I think she felt like she was lucky to have stayed in the game as long as she did and it would have been a good blindside to Emily.

And let's say Dee was told to still vote for Julie well that would have put 2 votes on Julie but 3 votes on Emily assuming Julie would have still voted for Emily either way with Julie playing Austin's idol she knew she was safe. I understand they may have felt splitting could have happened had Julie not played an idol but at least on the editing none of that was mentioned as a concern and had they took to heart that Julie now knows of the plan it would have made for another power play for their resumes rather than sticking with Julie.

I may not be thinking about this exactly the correct way just trying to remember it based on watching it.

I think Julie made a huge mistake. When Dee clearly told her "Austin is my number 1" Right then, and there Julie should've put her vote on either Dee or Austin. So Julie is ok with being #3 in a showmance? Dumb, dumb, dumb.... Should go down in Survivor history as a big, terrible move.

Julie blew it by not voting Austin out. With all the votes on her she probably regrets it now. No one is taking her to the final three.

The idol that Austin has, the amulet, is only good for final six, so he has to use it this week. The idol he gave Julie was good to final four i believe.

Yup. She’ll be out next week and if she didn’t know it before she does now after seeing all the votes on her.

Yeah I don't disagree about getting rid of Austin but she may have been thinking Emily had a better story arc of coming of from the way bottom so many times so best to get her out now and maybe it was a weird quasi-allegiance to her old group even though they were going for her at the same time.

I guess I didn't catch that his amulet was less powerful than the idol what a weird position Austin found himself in :sad2:

Those two women on the jury (I forget their names) are so bitter. It still shows when they cut to them. Julie should have kept her mouth shut until the final 3 when she had to state her case to the jury. I would have said uh oh, she's got a good case for the million. I still have no idea why they all wanted to vote for Jake. He'd be one I'd want to take to the final 3. I don't remember a time when someone didn't give back an idol given to them to save them at a tribal. I think Dee is playing a good game but a little playing Austin.

Agreed. It was dumb to give Julie the idol in the first place. Bring it with you to tribal and play it for whoever you want, but to give up an idol is not a good move. She should have given it back to him. She considered it hers and that should have brought up red flags for Austin.

Next season of Survivor will have 90 minute episodes as well. That is, after the first two episodes which will be two hours! :happytv:

This season of TAR was filmed after the season that is going to air next. This season was filmed for 90 minutes. Next season's show was filmed for 60 minutes, but will air for 90. Be prepared for lots of filler. 💤

I really do not like anyone left except for Austin. I find them all cocky and obnoxious.
I was not really into most of the cast this season and almost everyone I have liked got voted out.

I think it was a good blindside to get Drew out (he was bordering on really being way too sure of himself in the game) but I still think they should have gotten Julie when they could have.

I'm not sure I really like Jake but I'm a bit impressed by him sticking around. I can't imagine him winning unless he pulls out a stellar most amazing power play but the heat eventually moved off him paving the way for him to do that. Having either an idol if one gets back in play (or hasn't already been) or winning an immunity challenge even once would really help out in being able to make that move. I think he would need to make 2 moves though.

Of the players left I'm left with thinking are any of them are actually really strong? Yes Dee and Austin have played both sides but have they necessarily been big movers in plays? I'm not so sure except Austin had an idol and an amulet but then gave that idol up sooo not a good move on his part in terms of the jury. Julie could win just by being likeable without actually having done much moves. Katurah faded IMO and Jake hasn't made it out yet of being so underground.

Jake found a idol last week and it’s only good for the next tribal, final 5.

I liked the Austin and Drew partnership. I didn't need the focus on the showmance. There were plenty of lies out there. I'm not sure why the Julie and Drew votes were that monumental.
