Survivor 34: Game Changers

Boo! I missed tonight. The great orange one was in town and our local station showed his speech instead of Survivor.

I was in tears as well. I kept thinking I hope they stop them from killing the goats. Sandra is heartless. She was ready to kill that baby goat. I don't want to see an animal killed. I eat meat but I don't want to watch something like that on a show I watch for entertainment. I have a hard time with the chickens. I watch Survivor with my granddaughter sometimes and she's 14, but she would be really upset to see a goat killed. I said to DH that if they allowed it, they would lose a lot of viewers because there are so many people that watch with their children.

Yup, my teen DDs were freaking out. Glad they let them go. When the episode began, one DD was all about Sandra... really liked her. Then the goat bit... and now DD wants Sandra gone.

I don't mind the killings as long as they're done fairly humanely. Haven't they killed wild pigs before? I assume the goats are wild and not some Fijian's "livestock" if by livestock you mean they belong to someone.

In Australia - Season 2, correct?

I was wondering why they didn't keep them around for the milk.

That's what I thought--a typical goat produces a couple quarts of milk a day. It would be a good source of protein. It didn't seem like they even tried or considered this option. I thought a couple tribe members were rural/country folks, who would have at least some clue as to how to milk an animal.

Good luck to the losing tribe, I think they voted off the wrong person--Caleb would be helpful in challenges.

I was sad that they voted off Caleb he is a beast and would have helped in challenges. They could have voted off Debbie or Brad and neither would be missed. I see this tribe losing every physical challenge.

I never like Sandra and can't believe that she is back. They need to get her out as soon as they can or she will once again win. I don't know how she manipulates everyone but she does. I feel that they left so much out of last weeks episode because I was expecting Sandra to go home.

I'm also surprised they didn't keep the goats for the milk again I think we maybe missed a lot due to editing.

Looking forward to double elimination next week.

As soon as they started talking about getting a goat I changed the channel-when I changed back goats were being released. I would not be watching that again if they killed a goat- I don't like that they give them chickens to slaughter either. I don't eat meat so it is really tough to watch.

A looooot of people here think meat comes from the store.

I'm just as bad..if I had to kill a cow or a pig, I'd become a vegetarian.

I didn't like that they spent so much time on the goat scene. Other than that, it didn't bother me. I think somewhere in my head I knew they were going to end up letting them go. There was so much backlash when they killed the pig in Australia, I just assumed that production wouldn't let it go that far again.

Also, I like meat... a lot.

I don't watch Big Brother but Caleb's season was one where I tried watching it again. So, Big Brother Caleb colors my perspective on Survivor Caleb and I'm just not a fan. I'd much rather have Hali around. I thought her tribal council performance was masterful.

Sandra was licking her chops for that cabra, wasn't she? I live in a house with several guys of diverse cultures, and believe me, when it's "goat night" I head out for pizza. (Full disclosure, I would eat goat and even rat if I were starving.)

I don't remember a big stink when they were eating rats in Borneo. What's so sacred about wild pigs and goats? (I do understand the reluctance to kill a nursing mother and baby, though. But if they had caught a ram or old she goat....bring it on!)
