Survivor 20**HvV**No SPOILER THREAD**

Courtney was in Rob's alliance and I don't think Rob would have agreed to get rid of her, especially while she was sitting there during this discussion.

Of course! That's why he laughed at the comment, because it was stupid. :worship:

Russ was criticizing everybody because they lost the challenge, when he had his butt kicked by Rupert at the reward challenge, and on the immunity challenge he sat on his butt withe the girls.

I noticed that too. Lame, Rob, lame. It's as if someone told him what was going down and he turned into a sulky baby about it.

You gotta remember - What we see on TV is about 1/50th of the time they spend out there. I think Rob just decided he wasn't going to play the game as a manipulator and realized he had idiots on his tribe (Jerri and Coach.) He's about winning challenges where Russell is about winning the game. Sadly, Russell can only win the game by manipulating everybody.

Jerri-the wheel is turning but the hampster is dead.

Coach-can you say whipped?

Boston Rob-not a big fan in the past but I liked him this season. He really knows the game and uses his brain.

Russell-he may be good at what he does but he is missing the whole "outwit" aspect of the game. He uses people to get him farther in the game and makes sure that they know it. That will not get him votes in the end. Thats why he might make it to the end but he will never win. If he ever learns how to be subtle-he might have a chance.

Ding ding ding, we got a winner :thumbsup2

I agree Russell will never win the million, even if he makes it to the final cut. Who would vote for him. As said last night, he's such a little troll!:rotfl::scared1:

Sorry to see Rob go, I was routing for him. :confused3

Coach you just threw your vote away-what an idiot! And Jerri- voting for Rob will come back to hurt you in the end. Personally, I have nothing against Jerri, I think she's even better looking than Parvatti (looking at faces only, ignore Parv's stick bod). Jerri just doesn't use her wiles enough. And what's with the way Parv talks? I absolutely hate it every time she speaks with her teeth clenched together-what's that all about? Uhh, can't wait to see her go!

Glad to see the Heroes have finally got their act together. :goodvibes Nice to see them win a little. Still pulling for Colby, hope the merge happens soon enough to save him. ;)

BTW, I don't read any spoilers so all my comments are based on my feelings only. In reading back the post for the last few days I can see where you can tell whose leaving by what's been posted. PLEASE if you have read any spoilers don't ruin it for the rest of us! Don't post about someone leaving if you have read it elsewhere. I want to be surprised at what happens at TC. Same reason why as a kid I never wanted to know what I was getting for Christmas. Love the surprise. So, spoiler readers, be kind, and keep it to yourself.

In order for me not to read something I don't want to know I only read this thread after the show has aired (8 PM PST) and not for a few days leading up to it. Keeps me in suspense!:woohoo:

I think the ultimate winner of this season will be one of the players who hasn't gotten much air time yet. Time will tell. (And know I will stop reading this thread until after next weeks' show just in case someone wants to tell me why I'm wrong. :rotfl2:)

I loved the troll comment about Russell. That fits him perfectly. :lmao:

He can't play the people. I don't think he has any chance of winning the million dollars because part of the game is playing the people. Russell is so egotistical that he can't keep his mouth shut. I'm waiting for him to declare himself God.

I loved how Rob played the game. I think he is one of the best players to ever play the game. If Tyson hadn't been a fool, then Russell would be gone. Too bad. I was sorry to see Rob go.

The good thing about Survivor is that Russell will not be on the next one. I don't think I could take another Survivor with that nasty little troll.

Russell has no brain-mouth filter and he's cocky enough to assume that anyone who does, isn't thinking. While I'll buy that with some of these folks, I think there are other players in Heros vs Villians who are strategizing... they just aren't blurting out every thought they have out for all to hear.

I was rooting for Russell to win last season, and I'm enjoying watching him this season, but I can't believe that he hasn't seemed to alter his social game (or lack thereof) at all. So I agree that he has no chance of winning, even if he makes it to the end again.

I thought Russell giving the idol to Parvati would reel Coach in, I was surprised that it was Jerri who committed to the Russell alliance so quickly. Stupid move on her part.

I don't look at spoiler sites either, and I also had an inkling it would be Rob going home just from some of the posts on this thread. Maybe turned out OK this week since I was able to prepare myself emotionally... I'm really going to miss Rob! But I echo the request to be mindful of keeping spoiler hints off this thread. It would be much appreciated.

I agree about Russell--assuming he makes it to the finals, he just lost Sandra and Courtney's vote, right there. This is why he lost last season, too--his arrogance. now, I know some people here love him, and I admit, he's really fun to watch. But, you can't insult people who you hope will vote for you later. And most people would agree, Sandra and Courtney are likely to be on that jury.

Wrong! (in my best John Mclaughlin voice).

Russell lost last season because he played with a bunch of sore losers.

Russell lost last season because he played with a bunch of sore losers.

And he was the biggest one of them all :rotfl:

I was sorry to see Rob voted out. I had gotten to like him this season. And anything is better than Russell. While I have to admit Russell is a good player he is such an obnoxious troll that I just want to be done watching him. Maybe if his seasons weren't back to back he would be easier to take.

Although I almost think I'd rather see him win than Parvati. Couldn't stand her the first time she was on either.

My DH thinks he is a bad player as a result.

However--I think he is a good player-but like all good players, most have a flaw. A loophole they missed that seals their fate at the end.

Rob being voted out--is one of those said loopholes. He chose loyalty over what was wise for the tribe. Part of Russel's game is being cocky, exposing cracks and taking advantage of a situation. Rob this time--tried too much to be the good guy.

I recall it being mentioned that this series was filmed before the finale of last season aired.

If that is the case--I see Russell not doing well IF the villains catch on. He clearly hasn't shown any characteristics of learning that you have to get those votes in your back pocket while screwing people over as well.

But we aren't to the jury yet, so who knows what Russell will do if he makes it that far.

Russel's weakness is that he isn't there to make friends--to a fault. He actively makes enemies. But it carried him in the past.

Loyalty very rarely helps someone actually WIN the game of survivor. It helps folks get far, but it doesn't have a high success rate of making someoene a winner.

I can't recall of our honest to goodness "I didn't screw over anyone to win" winners--Ethan comes to mind and I'm sure there is a couple of others.

Anyway--as far as Russell, faulting him for being a liar--he's playing a game. It didn't help him win last time--how it works this time, remains to be seen.

If lying instead of helping your tribe is what makes you a better player, then I agree.

I hear this mentioned often, but if it isn't against the rules and is utlized as a tool, I can't see how it makes someone a bad player.

If it was all about who was the nicest or who could kick bootie at challenges, the whole game would be different.

I don't "fault" Russel for playing his way...the lies, the deception, the cockiness. I just think he is the kind of person I wouldn't give the time of day to in real life. Survivor is a microcosm. It brings out the true nature of people. Russell seems to be a very bad person.

Colby, Tom...both of them honorable guys who got to the end (or won) by being on the up and up. But the gae of Survivor has evolved over the years where those tactics they used, being themselves, being truthful and honorable, no longer work.

I would hate to see Russell win. Really. Yeah, he is a great player, but generally speaking, I don't like to see awful people come out on top. But he makes for good tv.

I am sad for Rob being given the boot. I hope Coach makes the jump to the Heroes side if he makes it to the merge. He always seemed like a reluctant villain. Most villains are "Yeah, I'm a bad guy. So what?" But Coach always thought of himself as being good and honorble. I am shocked at how whipped he is by Jerri. Blindly following her around. So strange. Dragonslayer??

Too bad nobody got to see Coach oerform on his season, or else they'd all have known what a snakey turd he really is and he'd have been voted out in like 10 seconds.

I was too. With the All Stars filming immediately after Samoa, Russell had no chance to see that his method of playing did not work enough to get him the million dollars. Had he had an opportunity to see what his mistakes were and correct them in All Stars, he would be an awesome competitor.

Jeff's blog this week, very entertaining!

THE VOICE OF BOSTON ROB IS HEARD OVER A BLACK SCREEN

BOSTON ROB

The more and more I think about it, something doesn’t feel right. Something just doesn’t feel right.

FADE IN:

EXT. FENWAY PARK – NIGHT
The stadium lights shine onto the field filled with a large crowd of mourners, mostly dressed in red and blue.

JEFF PROBST

…and as we gather to pay our last respects to Boston Rob, I’d like to take a moment of silence to remember the many things he brought to the game of Survivor. He was the Godfather who left too soon in Survivor: Marquesas. On Survivor: All-Stars, he took a different approach. He put his arm around the beautiful Amber on day three and became her “knight in shining armor” as he dragged her to the end giving her the opportunity to win the million dollars while being a two-faced betrayer to everybody else — and he did it all with an evil smile that made many of us fall in love with him in a brand new way. And finally on Survivor; Heroes vs. Villains, he transformed himself yet again — this time into a fairly likable, extremely hardworking and challenge-dominating player who took it upon himself to go up against Russell, the biggest villain of all-time.Some might say the karma of past betrayals finally caught up with B Rob and he went down hard. Probably for the last time. Rob… you will be missed.

There is silence in the stadium. Then… a shout from the cheap seats.

RUSSELL HANTZ

What about me??!!! Where’s the love for me? I’m the one took him down. I’m Russell Hantz, the greatest Survivor of allllll-time. I’m that good.

Russell hops down the steps toward the railing and without hesitating leaps from the 300 section. It is a long way down to the field, but miraculously he lands in the middle of center field and bounces up on his feet unharmed.
The crowd recognizes him as the man who took down Boston Rob. As expected, the Boston crowd quickly becomes a vigilante group and takes after the gap toothed troll. In a flash, he is gone for there is still more game to play on Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains.

FADE OUT
My therapist says that time heals everything, but I’m not sure how much time it will take to heal this loss. I miss him already. I miss the battle. Russell vs. Boston Rob will go down as one of the greatest battles of all time. I want them back. Now. We should do an entire season centered around Boston Rob vs. Russell. Give them some war clubs, put them in a gladiator ring.

Amber could be the ring girl. She’s dressed the same way she was in Maxim (if you haven’t seen it go back and check it out) but instead of being the sexy ring girl, this time she’s a mom, carrying child. She represents hope for the world. Goodness.

Coach would be Rob’s consigliore, his right hand man.

At the other end of the arena, Russell would stand alone. No friends. No allies.

The promos are written, the audience would be there. Right? If I told you right now that next season we’d have Russell and Rob back again, wouldn’t you be intrigued?

Okay, enough of my clear favoritism!

Man, I’m so in sync with you guys I can hear your comments already. “Why don’t you ever talk about how awesome Candace is?” “Jeff, relax, Rob is already married!” “Why do you love all the villains and hate all the heroes?”

Maybe it’s time for me to do a quick recap of everybody left in the game:

J.T. Still like him even though he is clearly playing in a way that could easily earn him a spot on the villain tribe. A friend of mine just told me that J.T. is her favorite, and she feels like she has the best husband because he’s the perfect combination of “J.T., Tyson and Boston Rob.” Not really sure what it means, but in this time of mourning I believe it is best to just share everything.

COACH Hmm. How can I say it in a new way. I can’t. I love Coach. Always loved Coach. I still want to develop a show centered around “Tales of The Dragon Slayer.” But right now The Dragon Slayer is depressed. He’s lost his way. As much as he wants to live by a code, he finds himself trapped in a corner on a game called Survivor and there appears no way out. If this were a movie, this would be the end of Act II when all seems lost. Is it? Or can he rise up from the ashes and be reborn yet again?

CANDACE Ah, man… I just got bored doing this recap. Sorry. I promise next time to talk about how the awesomeness of Candace. And she is awesome. Seriously.

COACH AND JERRI SITTING IN A TREE, K-I-S-S-I-N-G….
Does anybody else think Jerri and Coach might actually have a shot at making it as a couple? I do. Seriously, I do. No, really… I do. If they could each just open their arms, let down their guard, release judgments and simply accept the other, this could be something amazing. (Come to think of it, if I could do that in my own life it’d be pretty amazing.)

Coach and Jerri just look like they should be together. I can see them trekking across the Australian Outback with the sun beating down on their necks, sweat pouring off their bodies as they stop to take… their last… sip… of water. Stranded with no transportation, no food and now no water, they must rely on each other to provide shade, comfort, and love.

I can see the poster for the movie. Coach… his arms raised in a Dragon Slayer pose, a touch of blood dripping down his forearm hints at the epic battle we will witness. Jerri is dressed in a long flowing white cotton dress, slightly torn from her own battle or perhaps just their intense passion for one another. Her arms are wrapped around Coach’s thigh as she looks up adoringly at him.

For the sequel, I can see them paddling down the Amazon as Coach re enacts being captured by an indigenous tribe, only this time Jerri arrives just in time to save the day. Coach sweeps her up in his arms, flexing his tattoos and grabbing a quick feel. They’ll make made love in the jungle, which we won’t show because in this version we want the PG-13 crowd. They emerge from the jungle, disheveled and once again sweaty as Coach is declared the new king of the land.

In the third movie, Jerri surprises Coach picking him up in an old Buick as they drive across America to Burning Man where Jerri will perform a spoken word tribute to the love of her life while Ozzy — yes, Ozzy — plays bongos in the background.

This is one of the greatest “could be” love stories of all time. Coach? Jerri? Are you listening to your hearts? Let go of your fears. Open your arms and your bodies and accept the other for all they are… and all they will never be.

If you decide to marry, I will officiate and forego my normal $25 fee as my wedding gift to you both.

RUSSELL IS THE COCKIEST SURVIVOR TO EVER PLAY THE GAME
Russell continues to flabbergast me in the most enjoyable and entertaining of ways. Calling out Courtney or Sandra as the “next to go home” right in front of their faces was one of the boldest moves I’ve ever seen anybody make in any game at any time. Wow. Give this man a wide berth cause if you don’t, he will take it.

Let me tell you what I’m really learning from Russell — when you have nothing to fear, nothing at stake, you have all the power. Russell is truly only playing to win and it shows. He is so brazen. Russell is one helluva salesman. No, I am not going to stop talking about him because he’s absolutely fascinating.

What’s even more amazing is that he is still in the game! For all the people that want to hate on him, he’s still in the game and Rob is gone. Tom is gone. James is gone. Stephenie is gone. Cirie is gone. He’s not just a crazy person, he’s a very intimidating, cunning and powerful player in this game.

Can he win the game? Remains to be seen. He still lacks social grace. I doubt he has ever had it, probably never will. But that guy will empty your wallet before you ever know he had your hand in his pocket.

BOSTON ROBS LAST WORDS
Rob: (to Coach) You’re a little man.

I love how Rob went out. He didn’t pretend it didn’t matter, he didn’t say “good luck”, he simply said what was on his mind, the subtext of which was clear: Coach, you suck.

Coach. Coach. Coach. I too am a bit dismayed. I will need time to sort through this emotionally. I will certainly need more therapy to help me understand and try to forgive. I may never see you the same way again. But I will still marry you and Jerri. Although at this point I’d feel more comfortable charging you the $25.

See ya next week.

Wrong! (in my best John Mclaughlin voice).

Russell lost last season because he played with a bunch of sore losers.

It's truly sad and pathetic that you can't get past last season. Dude, he lost. He is NOT the best survivor ever, because, well, he lost. You can still be his biggest fan, but he LOST.
