Hm... I didn't realize there was a spoiler thread. I don't want to know but part of me does. Urgh.
I'm having trouble seeing how Russell outsmarted Rob based on what they showed on TV. Rob figured out exactly what Russell was going to do if he had the idol and covered both Russell playing it himself or giving it to Parvati. So, he arranged to have 3 votes for Russell and 3 for Parvati. Even if Russell figured out Rob's plan, I don't remember seeing anything that would have told Russell who exactly was going to vote for him and who was going to vote for Parvati. If Tyson was ALREADY going to be voting for Parvati, Russell wouldn't have been changing his vote, and Russell would have been voted out. Frankly, I think he just lucked out.
Unless or until he can win the game, I don't see how Russell can be considered one of the great players (except in his own mind). He may be able to manipulate some people, but in the process he alienates enough people that he's going to have trouble getting the votes in the end.
he is a good player, but not the best.Rob is better, Rob doesn't have that narcissist ego syndrome like Russ does, Russ is good but his ego takes over, Russ goes around saying how he is the best, he is this and that, just play the game Russ, win the challenges do something other that talk to the camera. I'm not saying he is not a good player at all, he just think that the world revolves around him.

Russell did not luck out! He knew exactly what was Rob was trying to do. He knew they were trying to split the vote which is why he talked to Tyson to make him think it would be a runaway vote and therefore no need to vote for Russ, just vote for Parv. It worked!
Does Russell strike you as a man who leaves things to chance? Nope. He knows exactly what is going down. The look of bewilderment on Rob's face was priceless. Rob should bow down to Russell's awesomeness!!

By the way Boston Rob is cool and all but he isn't all that Awesome, I mean he didn't win the season of survivor he was on and he even lost in the Amazing Race!
I'm sorry, but I beg to differ on the Amazing Race. In my mind, he and Amber DID win, but CBS intervened. (I'm sorry, but nobody will convince me otherwise). Rob and Amber were the only team on that flight out, and the plane had started to pull away from the tarmac. Uchenna and Joyce ultimatley MISSED that flight, because the door was closed and the tarmac was being pulled back. The next thing we see, is the plane backing up, the tarmac being sent back out, and WAHLAH...the producers now have a foot race to the finish line. (had Rob and Amber been on the only team on that flight, they could have walked across the finish line). Rob said it right when he was on Regis and Kelly later that week, American Airlines owes them a million dollars, and it's true. They raced like no other team in the history of the show had ever raced. they brought a whole new strategy into the game, that quite frankly was very entertaining. (remember how Rob convinced the teams to take a penalty and not finish eating that disgusting meat?)
Russell is all talk, and IMO, he is just lucky. There is no way he is a better game player than Rob. I don't think anyone is. I am someone who HATED Rob in his 1st two season's of Survivor. But after his appearance on AR, I have a whole new respect for him, that no other reality star can match. It just amazes me how intelligent he is.
Russell pulling one over Tyson does not mean he outsmarted Rob, because if Tyson had gone to Rob and TOLD HIM what Russell had said, Rob would have seen right through it. Why didn't Russell tell Rob he was voting for Parvati? If he really wants to come out as better than Rob, then he needs to pull something like this on Rob himself, and see how far he gets. He won't, because he would be chewed up and spit out...by Rob. Russell took a chance. He won, because Tyson is as dumb as a rock. There is no way that means he outwitted Rob..no way.
Huh? Finding immunity idols without a clue is "All Talk"?
Rob is a great player but Russell is better.
They need to have an all-stars survivor edition of the amazing race...
Team up Russell and Parvati, Amanda and James, JT and Stephen, Coach and Jerri, etc.
It means he knows the game. He knew the game has a history of hiding immunity idols, so he looked for them. Some people might suggest he had a bit of help in that area. *wink* *wink*
What I mean by all talk, is every word out of Russell's mouth is how great a player he is. I don't think he is a great player. Yes, he is good at the game, but some of the strategies he has taken, required quite a bit of luck, and he just got lucky. He was lucky that Tyson did not go to Rob and tell him what Russell said to him, because had Rob known about Russell's plan, he would have been the one snuffing his torch, and not Tyson.

That's what you say.![]()

No hints at all, but I will say I will never look at a cheat list again. It really runined it for me 'knowing' who is leaving before watching each week. So, if you are tempted..don't do it. Those watching with me wish I didn't know either, because it's hard to not make comments during the show now.
