Survivor 20**HvV**No SPOILER THREAD**

I agree. I think the move in Micronesia when Eric gave Natalie his challenge won immunity necklace was the absolute STUPIDEST move. I could not believe that when I saw it...
That's who I voted for too...I don't think anything can compare to Erik's move.

It's insulting to the jury to imply that they were irrational when they voted for the ultimate survivor. People who put down winners like Ethan, Amanda, Sandra and Vecepia refuse to accept that playing under the radar is a strategy. If you don't like it. Too bad. There's no rule that says you have to play the game one way or another. Courtney said as much without coming out and saying it at the final jury. Not enough credit is given to this strategy. Look how quickly a person can get a target on their back when they step in the spotlight. I can think of no better example than Terry. He was probably the best physical competitor there was and the only way he was going to win it is if he could have either kept the immunity idol to the end or won every single challenge. When he final lost one, he was gone. Other contestants but their heads on the chopping block when they took early leadership roles. So can you truly fault this as a strategy? It clearly works. Sandra did it twice.

My main problem is that if everyone played the way Sandra played, you wouldn't have a show, it would be BORRRRRRRRRRING. So why is it that the interesting people, the leaders, the people who make good TV, are penalized for creating ratings and the people who are snoozers get to win and collect the money.

Russell wasn't penalized by the producers of Survivor. In fact, he got to play to the end. And, I certainly didn't watch this season for Russell, in fact, I hoped almost every night that he'd be voted off.

I still want to see a Celebrity Survivor. I think there are plenty of B-C-D list celebrities that would do it for a chance at a million and the TV time.

Of course with no special treatment... they get what the reg player would get.

They did, it was called "I'm a celebrity, get me out of here!"

I've watched every Survivor since it started and I cannot think of a bigger sore loser, or someone with less class, than Russell.

::yes::

I thought it made him look even more hypocritical. He doesn't vote on game play, he votes on who he likes.

True, I agree Rupert's a hypocrite. I meant the friendship he and Sandra have, I forgot how good of friends they are outside the show.

Yep, not necessarily loving America's choices (Rupert for fan favorite this season... really?) and I also agree that what America thinks can be very easily manipulated with editing choices, so I think Russell's give America a vote idea is nonsense.

yea, I wasn't too pleased when I heard it was going to come down between Rupert and Russell for fan favorite...I was expecting Rob to be in the top running at least, or maybe I'm just biased :upsidedow

Rob is my fan favorite. :lovestruc

I agree with the saying that whoever won deserved to win. We aren't there. All we see is a very edited version of events that are meant to draw in ratings. The players are there day in and day out and see much more than we ever will. That's why any type of voting by America is a setup based on the producer's editing.

I think the players who win have played very well. I think Tom said it well when he said it was 1/3 luck, 1/3 physical, and 1/3 social, or something like that. You've got to be smart enough to play the people. They are just as much a part of the game as the physical challenges.

I agree that whoever wins survivor deserves to win. Some people who lose also deserve to win, but there isn't anyone who has won who hasn't deserved it. Everyone who has won has worked hard and has managed to outlast everyone. And outlasting 15-19 other people is an amazing feat no matter how you do it. Now do I like all the winners? No, but did they all work their butts of in some way to get the win? Yes.

Good point about being friends outside the show. Stephanie alluded to that last night and I didn't think about it at the time. It could definitely impact the vote.

I think more credit is owed to Sandra for how she plays the game. She is outspoken, and says what's on her mind, but she knows when it's safe to say things and when it's not.
She also plays the game fairly. She doesn't bully others (unless they bully her), she makes friends, and she is her own person. She is also very clever. Who would have though to burn Russell's hat! Good grief that was awesome!
For those who say 'she's done nothing the whole season,' obviously that's not the case and she proved that by winning not one, but two million dollars and the title of Sole Survivor twice. That speaks for itself in my book.

:thumbsup2

She made it to the end and she did a lot. I think its wrong to say she did nothing. She didn't bully anyone and the production edited a lot of stuff.

About challenges, when someone wins a lot of challenges the others go after them, it happened with Laura last season, and many others. Besides when Boston Rob was there and they were winning most of the puzzles Sandra was always helping.

Her and Parvarti deserve another title and price just for putting with the biggest loser , bully, arrogant, egocentric,Narcissist, lazy etc etc ....Russell.

Sandra was helping with the puzzles? Didn't she sit out half the challenges?
