Survivor 20**HvV**No SPOILER THREAD**

As I boldly predicted back on page 118, Sandra won.

Mind, I was rooting for Parvati. However, as it turned out, while the jury was tar and feathering Russell some of the tar got on Parvati. She was a little too close to Russell, while everyone knew that Sandra hated him and, as she stated at the final tribal council, tried repeatedly to get him out.

I am very, very glad Russell won 'fan favorite' over Rupert.

Russell! We have watched you on every single episode of Survivor for the last two seasons, and you did make it interesting! I predict that Mark Burnett will get him back on another season (like when he brought back Stephanie and Ozzy for that one season). Either that, or cast him on that new show in development (described as a combination of Amazing Race and Survivor).

Many will argue, of course, that Sandra is not a deserving winner. Yet I tend to believe Tom, who said that every winner of a season of Survivor deserved it. I will say this: she is two for two, and the proof of the pudding is in the eatin'.

Randy: the bald look works for James, not for you.

I did think Russell was absolutely correct when he said that he played one long season. If, at the end of Samoa, there had been an immediate vote and reunion show, where he would have learned that his social skills were zip, he would have adjusted his game some for the new season. However, lacking that feedback, all he had to go on was 'Well, it got me to the final tribal council once, so I shall do it again as before".

I thought Jeff (I love how Courtney likes to refer to him formally as "Jeffrey") was pumped up for the reunion show. He knew it had been an excellent season.

Booo cry baby, "I got player of the fans". Sandra won and deserved it, If Parvati had won she also deserved it, same for Russell.

He said that now, that he played one game, because he lost again of course! But before the season 20 started he was bragging on an interview that since no one had seen him playing he was going to kick all their butts, because he had that advantage, so he chose to take the risk knowing the pros and cons.

If he had won, he would be saying " I won twice".

And now that everyone has seen him play twice, if he is ever on another Survivor he will definitely make it to the finals again, so that the other two with him get a 50/50 chance of winning

Yeah, but remember Russell EASILY could have been out early on in this season if Tyson hadn't decided to switch his vote last second! Rob had everything all figured out to get Russell eliminated. There was that bit of luck that both Tom and Colby were talking about in the reunion right there!

Another example of Rusell's one-way strategy. I made a post earlier that Russell's strategy is not as deep as some may think. He bullies the "dumb" people. Last season he looked for weak-willed people to bully around, his so-called, "dumb girls" alliance. Tyson is another one who fits the "dumb" profile, so Russell targeted him as well. It was a game changer and I do give Russell kudos for being able to ID these types of people.

I don't, however, think it's a great strategy. Getting dumb people to do dumb things is very easy (this is what Russell does). Getting smart people to do dumb things is something worthy of praise...Russell never found a way to get the smart people to do the dumb things. He's one of the most entertaining characters of all time on Survivor, but he's far from being one of the best players of all time.

Yes! Because he is the best and they will make it to the end because of him! Whatever! The lady at the early show told him to audition for American Idol :rotfl: because the audience vote :lmao:

Love it :rotfl:

For being so smart you would think that Russell would understand America sees what Survivor wants them to see, so even his winning the fan vote is because the way they edit him. He is a loser in every respect of the word, the people who played the game with him knew it (twice) and most of the people watching know it, someday maybe Russell will figure it out too

I can understand why people hate Russell. He's one of those kind of people that you either like or don't like.

I also agree with you about Sandra. She is quite arrogant but some seem to think that it's okay if she is that way but Russell can't be. I don't care for her at all.

As far as her game play and riding coat tails. It seems that that kind of player tends to win a lot.

I really wish something had been said about the Coach/Jerri thing that seemed to be blooming.

And I would have liked to have heard what the players thought about Russell after watching him from last season. Would they have voted him out quickly, etc. Rob did say when they were doing the tribute that they voted him off when they should have.

I would have liked Jeff to ask why there wasn't a "Girls Alliance"?? It would have been so easy to pull off - especially since everyone already thought there was!

Exactly! He got rid of all the guys, Boston Rob, Tyson, Coach, etc because we wanted to manipulate the girls. He love bulling women, he does not have respect for women.
Parvarti was smart very smart and he couldn't get to her, he tried like he did with Danielle, it was too late for him to 'dump' Parvarti like he said, when he could she won challenges because she knew she had to win or she was next.

Sandra was another one he couldn't manipulate, she let him think that, but she knew his game, when she lied about Coach and Russ ate that lie, Sandra knew his game, but she played dumb all along, she kept her distance when it was time in front of the jury! That is way better strategy that bully people around and going all crazy like he did.

Russell wanted to be the only one with ideas, when Sandra played her idol we went nuts on Parvarti, he did the same thing with his idol, but it was OK because it was him.

They both played him when they were laughing at them right on his face and Sandra told him to his face she was against him. She lost her whole alliance and she still made it to the end.

Love it :rotfl:

Exactly!
We see so little, we see the edited version that they want us to see for ratings.
I don't hate Russell, I just see things different, he is not smarted than Sandra nor Parvati.

They were smart enough to keep him because they knew the jury was not going to vote for him, just by looking at the jury, but Russell was to busy being cocky.

Sandra can be arrogant too, she has to being next to Russell. He wanted to hear from Sandra and Parvarti, Russell you are the best, you help me, im here because of you, you are superman, the best of best bla bla.
I noticed when Russell told Parvarti that he protected her, and she said we protected each other, something like that, he wasn't happy with Parvati comment, and the jury noticed that, mean while Sandra was quiet :rolleyes1 Parvati didn't win because of that bond.

Russ can auditon for Dancing with the Stars, American Idol, So you think you can Dance, America got Talent.

I thought it was interesting Colby mentioned they were restricted from exploring the island and swimming this season...something he enjoyed in previous seasons. I didn't think about it until he mentioned it. I wonder why they were restricted this season?

Glad Russell didn't win but he'll be back in another season...he's such good tv Burnett won't let him fade away.

I thought Tyson looked scary last night...kinda like a witch. Straggly hair and not quite enough facial hair to make a full goatee. Jerri looked better on the show than last night...I wonder who makes these people up?

Romber's baby is cute.

The reason why Russell has made it to the finals on both seasons is because the survivors know they can win against him.

I liked Russell last season. I thought he really outwitted, outplayed all of them BUT he is a bully. He was a much, bigger bully this season . He speaks to people like they are s**t. He threatens them and makes them afraid of him. He obviously targets people who are against him. This causes the players to fear him and go along with him for fear of being voted off and losing. BUT when it comes down to voting and giving him a million dollars, they say screw you. You are getting nothing from me and that is why he loses. Who can blame them. Revenge is theirs in the end.

I am happy with Sandra winning. I would have been happy with Parvati winning too. They both played the game well. Differently, but strategically.

I noticed that too from the secret videos comments. They were mentally exhausted because they couldn't go and unwind like before, Rupert mentioned too, when he used to go swimming and fishing . I wonder that too, maybe they were Sharks. I saw a video where boston rob caught a little sharks, or maybe the weather was bad. :confused3

Tyson look like one of the Manson followers, weird.

DH mentioned that about Jerri and Amanda, that they look better without all that makeup.

I loved when Parvarti told Jerri that Russell wanted her vote! Ouch! Good for her. He bullied everybody and Parvarti had to put with all his ego attacks.

I have a question for the Survivor experts.

I thought that this season was filming before the last one aired on TV. Is that correct?

If so, there was no way that any of the players had seen Russell play or for Russell to know that outcome of that season. But....before they went to the final tribal to decide the winner, There is a shot of Russell sitting on a rock high above the water and it's pretty obvious that it's a green screen behind him. During his interview he makes a statement along the lines of last time he took the weak players with and since that didn't work, this time he was changing his game plan and taking prior winners.

How could he have know that he didn't win his first game if he played "one long game"?

I think that CBS has some explaining to do. ;)

I was wondering the same thing too. Were they restricted last season from fishing and exporing while in Samoa? I can't remember.

My family was laughing hysterically at Tyson. They said he looked like Jesus and he was probably wearing mandals:rotfl2: I couldn't even recognize Parvati. She looks completely different with make up on. I commented last night that I didn't understand why the wore so much make up after being voted off. After seeing them for months without makeup and seeing their natural beauty, a little makeup afterward would go a long way.

I think he felt the your a loser vibes at the finaly tribal council to win a million dollars. I am sure he got many cold shoulders and nasty comments after the first game ended and the new one started too. Everyone obviously disliked him.

Parvati should have won it. She is the best Survivor player of all time. Russell is number 2. Sandra is not even in my top 5 all time. I don't care that she won $2 mil. She is a coat tailer. Almost as bad as Natalie winning last season. Ugh. Hard to stomach this show's endings. Russell dominated last season. Parv dominated this season. They each should have had the nod. Natalie and Sandra? Pa-leeze. These voters need to check their "boo-hoo" emotions at the door. Who played the game the best? That is how they should vote. It should not be on who hurt my feelings, who did not back-stab me, etc. That is crap. It should be like sports, the best player wins the crown... not the nicest or sweetest.

Well Im no expert! But I seen on another shows that the production shoot 2 different interviews.
They could had done that, they might told Russell to say I didn't win, and another one saying that we won, but just very simple without much details.
