I just got a survey in the email, complete with hypothetical situations. Here's the jist of it (it was quite in depth):
In the first scenario, it asked how I would feel if ticket prices varied by the season in which you visited, and if it would affect when I go (I said, no, it would not have effected when my vacation was) here's the example cost/date break down that as given to me:
Value, arriving 1/16-2/10, September
1 Day 72
2 D 143
3 D 197
4 D 205
5 D 210
6 D 215
7 D 220
8 D 225
9 D 230
10 D 235
Regular, arriving 1/1-1/15, 2/11-2/28, March, May, June, July, August, October, 11/1-12/15
1D 85
2D 168
3D 232
4D 241
5D 246
6D 251
7D 256
8D 261
9D 266
10D 271
Peak, arriving 4/15-4/30, 12/16-12/31
1D 100
2D 198
3D 273
4D 283
5D 288
6D 293
7D 298
8D 303
9D 308
10D 313
Then they asked about the price of park hopper (I only have that feature on my tickets), asking if I would have purchased it at $75/ticket (no) and $65/ticket (no again). Then (and this was the most interesting to me) they asked about paying her park hop. First the quoted $35/hop (no) and then $25/hop (no again). They asked what I thought of the paying her hop (and they asked this same type of question about the paying per hop several times) here's what I said:
1st time:
"Paying per park hop could be useful if priced right. It would make more sense for someone who only wants to hop a couple days on their vacation, or perhaps and 'evening only' type of hop for those who hop to a different park to take advantage of the more abundant dinner choices."
2nd time, differently worded question, after they brought up the pricing:
"It could get very expensive for someone who hops frequently. At $35/hop, times, let's say a 10 day vacation, and 2 parks per day, so one hop per day, that would cost an additional $350 - that's almost the price of the actual ticket itself! I would definitely reconsider hopping. Although, it might persuade me to go ahead and buy an Annual Pass, that way I get unlimited hopping, waterparks, and all the additional benefits."
Just thought this was an interesting idea, and wanted to see what you guys thought?
