survey from disney/$500 to Amazon

I respond to every survey that Disney sends me. Some about the hotels....even about golf when my husband played. I just got an email that says I won $500 at Amazon.com. The subject of the email says "Disney Parks and Resorts Online sent you an Amazon.com Gift Certificate!" The email actually came from gc-orders@a2zgiftcerts.amazon.com . What do you guys think????

I got one to Bed Bath and Beyond. It was in spam and did not even open it. They follow your usage, meaning they know you go to Disney sites and obviously Amazon. And then they put the 2 together to temp you and then bamm they got you.

Hope you deleted it.

I did not download any of the images just in case, but opened the email. I copied the claim code from the email, opened a separate browser and went to amazon.com (not clicking on any links). I picked an itme to buy, entered the claim code, and sure enough it gave me the $500 off!
I guess not all are spam.

Well I have not ordered anything but when I went out there and put a TV in my shopping cart and used the code they gave me it showed up with a $500 discount. Wish there was someone I could contact to find out if this is real. There is an email address on the email that I got that said I could contact for any questions but I am just too freaked out to do anything!!!!

I think it may be legit...

I do surveys for different websites and some of them pay me in Amazon.com gift certificates (Testspin.com, etc).

When I receive these gift certificates, the always come from that e-mail address: gc-orders@a2zgiftcerts.amazon.com

Whether it's Testspin, Keynote, or any other survey site...the gift certificate always comes from that e-mail address.

Now...I don't know if they accidentally sent you $500 instead of $5...or maybe they do a drawing or randomly send a few members $500. Many survey sites do this type of thing.

Anyway...if Amazon.com accepts it, then it's legit....congrats!

Contact Amazon directly. Do not reply to the email or use the address they gave you.

I just want to confirm I did get a legitimate discount for $5 from that address that was accepted by Amazon. I do complete the Disney surveys from their family site and they tell you before you do the survey that you could be awarded the $5 certificate.

This is if you are a Disney online research panel member. I get surveys about once every 2 weeks.

I didn't click on any links (amazon was the one given). I went to my amazon account and used the certificate for an order I had and it worked fine.

Oh gosh, I don't remember exactly. I know when I registered at the Disney site, I said I wanted to receive emails and updates and such. Each week I get an email newsletter with various Disney information. I think at some point there was a link from to register.

For example, the survey I got today was about downloading children's music. Would I be interested in a site with downloadable Disney music, how many cd's do we own, what kind of music do my kids listen to, etc.

I actually think the survey I got the gift certificate for was the one where I answered the first question a certain way and based on that response, I didn't get asked any more questions. I must have been one of the first 100 to complete that one.

I know there are times when you are on the Disney website and you get a pop up asking about a suryvey. I also get post cards in the mail, some have been for the hotels and even some for my husband playing golf. I know this year I got a survey about the new booking online "best rate" plan. I do not care for that plan and told them that in the email. I also remember this year I had a very long survey about would I be intrested in Disney having different resorts and packages (other than the theme parks) example of one was at a ranch, and I believe one was for in the mountians (sledding and skiing). I responded very favorable to that one.
