I can't believe how much people complain about other people at Disney!

What did someone do for you at Disney at was surprisingly nice?

Here is something done for us and something we did for someone else:

On the Magical Express last trip ~ it was very late 11:30 at night. We got on the bus with two sleeping children and I noticed a HUGE group of teenagers... I thought oh great swearing and being loud. The noticed the girls and were all telling each other to be quiet and not wake them. Then when Zoe (11 months at the time) woke up ~ they spent the rest of the time ohhing and ahhing at her and entertaining her. I was so surprised at their niceness that it put me in a great mood for the rest of the trip!

We did the Fantasmic Package and two of our people weren't able to go. Mom and Mimi (3) were too tired to stay and decided to head to the hotel. While we were walking up and getting ready to go through the "Special" door another couple followed us and were turned away at the door with no ticket. I went back and gave them our extra tickets so they could go in.

We also often give away fast passes.

There are alot of nice people visiting Disney-but I think we just remember the not-so-nice ones! When my daughter was a baby-11 months she was always well behaved-many people commented on the buses about her-also VERY smart. Anyway, I do remember sitting with a couple from Australia & they were amaed by her-they gave her one of those little bears whose hands clip together & attach to something. It has a little Australian flag with it-my daughter loved it as much as they did giving it to her. It was very nice of them. When we went in Aug. we talked about if we had won ears or lanyards we would give them to a family with kids that didn't have any-unfortunately we didn't win any. It's nice to receive -but better to give!

several years ago our car go broken into and my wifes her sisters and her moms purses were stolen. we were out our PI tix and about 200 bucks plus all the pain and aggrevation of cancelling cards etc...well the tix for PI for my wife and I but she was too upset to go. I did however talk her into going to eat. She and I went to Fulton's well my wife was still visibly upset. The older couple maybe in there 60's struck up a conversation with us and we told them what had happened. Our waiter knew too and well as soon as the couple left the waiter came and told us to order any dessert we wanted compliments of friends and Fultons....I dont know if the couple did that or it was Fulton's doing but it was great and it reinforced our belief in the goodnee of people....

Disney magic at work I guess...I had Creme Brulee for the 1st time...

We were given a "magical moment" by a CM at Disney who gave us tickets to view Illuminations from the closed off veranda area outside France near the bridge. She only let about 15 people down into that large area, it was great.

We gave up our front seats in Test Track to a Dad and 2 little girls since we had already ridden the front seat. We also gave away a YOMD lanyard to a little girl who asked us where we got them. My DH and Dnephew didn't want theirs, so we had 2 extra. It was totally selfish on my part...I figured we would be rewarded with good weather for our trip, which we were!!!

We've meet so many nice people on our trips. A mom and daughter who shared the curb with me and DD during a parade, to another mom who shared a bench and we sat and chatted while watching our kids play.
In fantasmic we sat up front next to a family of 3 who also had a little girl. Our DD's hit it off, so we adults started talking and getting to know each other. DD then went around and handed out glo sticks to the kids around her, and in turn the kids shared their snacks or treats. It was such an awsome feeling of community inspired by the kids.
At DL - DH and I gave up our seats so that another family could squeeze into the animal cage of Casey's train. There's only two animal cages on the train and all the kids fight and cry to get to ride in them, so we let another family with younger kids ride with DD (who didn't mind) while we took the much more comfortable open air cart behind her, where we could watch her with out the crowding.

On our last trip, I had saved money so I could buy a special t-shirt and sweatshirt for myself. We went to Downtown disney one evening. We were all getting tired. I bought a nice t-shirt and a real nice sweatshirt--about $70 worth. I paid cash. My kids also had bought some things...So, I am carrying about 3-4 bags. We decide to go back to Pop so my DH could meet up with his buddy that happened to be at WDW too. He left and the girls and I were going thru our stuff, looking at our loot. Well, I noticed my bag was missing! I was upset. I had saved for a special treat for myself and it was gone. I started calling the front desk, then disney, then downtown disney. No one could really help me. It seemed hopeless. I left my name with everyone I had talked to and told them to call me if they found anything.

The next day we were done early so we headed to downtown disney to go to the lost and found. I figured there was no hope since no one had called me back. We got there and talked with a nice gentleman and guess what--someone had turned in my shirts!!!! I was so pleased. The receipt was in the bag and they could have easily returned them or kept them for themselves. I was very thankful and I hope that person had some pixie dust head their way for the nice thing they did for me.

I will have to brag a bit about my son. He is a great little boy at 6 now, and 5 on our last trip.

Much like others here he loves to share. So before our trip we went to the dollar store and bought lots of glow sticks to share. He was doing his thing as we waited in a great area for Specto. Sharing and playing. This super member of the dream team seats down and visits with him and the others. She spent 15 minutes with us.

As she was leaving she told us that she had been watching Anthony. She gave him a Thank You pin. It was a left over from Earth Day I think. My son talked about that pin for days.

On a side note, we made nice with a family at Fantasmic too. It was a great way to spend time waiting. We bumbed into this random family from Washington three more times on our trip.

We met some really nice folks from NJ when we visited during "Jersey Week" in 2004. There was the lady who gave DD one of the unicorn pops she bought when DD dropped her candy; the nice teens who we talked with at the POFQ pool one night; and the great "Joisey guys" who gave up their seats on a crowded bus for DD and me one night.

Some nice things we have done- given away FPs we weren't going to use to folks in the standby line; let kids stand in front of us at our prime parade spot at MK; and helped a Mom with a cranky toddler in line for Dumbo (we had bubbles and crayons/paper for her to play with).

Love being at WDW and meeting all the nice CMs and guests!!

When we went in October, there were lots of people who made our trip more magical. People gave up their seats on the bus so my children and I could sit down. Once someone even held my stroller for me. People made room for my kids to sit up front at one of the parades. We also met a couple in Fantasyland who gave us their YOAMD ears. Outside of a slightly grumpy Belle, everyone must have been in a very magical mood.

There was one vacation where we were staying club level at YC. My husband was golfing every day so I was going to the club room alone every morning for breakfast. A lovely young lady of about 4 decided that she hated seeing me eating alone and joined me (her parents did ask me if it was okay). She and I had breakfast together every day that week and I so enjoyed having a breakfast companion.

I was struggling with my stroller one time and a nice lady came over and helped me get it off the curb and she was really sweet. We had gotten some fast passes for any ride we wanted 12 of them to be exact and decided to head back to the hotel right after we ate and we were leaving that day. Well as we came out of Hollywood and Vine ~ I saw the same nice lady who had helped me with my stroller ~ so I gave her those fast passes!! She was confused but soooo happy!

Love the 4 year old wanted to keep you company and you enjoyed it!

I always used to feel sorry for people eating alone. Until I had two kids under 2 years old... then I thought "Ah what a lucky lady to sit and eat and enjoy her breakfast alone!" LOL! Not sure I would have let my LO bother you!

Great subject, thank you so very Much for starting this ,so many great things happen to us at WDW,and there Is so many nice people. Frist back In 2007 I had bought my DS a my pal Mickey. Well we went on space Mt and It eather drop out or he forgot It.We were dricted to the Main street and the lost and found to see If it might of been turn In.Welll It was not,my DS was hart broken and since they were so spendy we could not get another one right away. Well the cm took out a slip and told my DS to go pick out another one!,I could not believe It,I was really taken back.It made my DS day so much and he still has it today. Another time was this past April over at AK at the EE ride exit.My DS bought a pin,a speacil one for EE,well part of it broke and the cm behind the counter took about 20min to try to fix It for him and finaly just gave up and replaced with another.Ya not earth shattering but he could of just said here Is another,or said oh well thats to bad for you,but he took that extra step to try to help my DS,.

Two really bad things happened on our last trip. One ended well and the other... Well, it's all good now.

First of all, I somehow dropped my son's wallet while he was on a ride. It was probably 45 minutes before I realized it was gone and went looking for it. Of course it was no where in sight and my son had all his cash ($300) and several credit cards in the wallet. We went to lost and found where we found that some honest person had turned it in. Everything was intact. He learned not to take all his cash to the park after that.

The next day something even worse happened. I fell down the stairs in Mexico at EPCOT and shattered my leg. Immediately after I hit the ground, a woman with a British accent came to my side. She told me she was a nurse. She talked to me and coached me to breathe. A man also came to my aid. He had a Latino look and accent. He told me he was a doctor. He elevated my leg and carefully removed my sneaker and cut off my sock. Both these angels stayed with me, talking to me and soothing me, until the EMTs came. The EMTs were very kind and took me to the ER in Celebration. From there I was transported to an Orlando hospital for surgery. After a long recovery, I am doing pretty well now. Still sore and I don't have all my strength back yet, but not bad. I'll forever be grateful to those 2 wonderful people who assisted me and stayed with me when I needed them.

So far? Not much. Of course they paid the ambulance bill for transport to the ER but that's all so far. We do have a claims agent and were told to submit documentation of my medical bills (which are HUGE with 2 surgeries, lot's of pt, and 6 months of doctors' bills). Since submitting the requested paperwork almost 2 months ago, we've heard nothing.

Sorry you got hurt but it was great to hear people stopped to help...Hope things are better and it doesnt discourage you from returning to Disney....Mexico does have a ramp if you dont want to mess with the stairs again...

My daughter in law vows to hold my hand on all stairs from now on! We have 2 trips planned for '09. One in January (23 days away!) and another in May. We own DVC so expect to make many more trips and hopefully no more accidents.
